    That is the plan. To actually have it driveable by tomorrow.

    Took my time measuring the pressure plate fingers to trans mating surface of bellhousing. As well as from mating face of the trans to the face of the TOB. Ran into an issue but was able to come up with a quick fix, but it will work until I can get a new piece from McLeod.

    Going to double check the clearances when I get home, then throw the trans in. FINALLY

    I can't tell you how hard it is to keep from being excited just to even drive it N/A. As it has practically been a year. Next month it will be actually. As long as my parts arrive today, and I have no more set-backs, I should be good to go.

    Got a side line mod going on at the same time as the twin disk install.

    It will attach my -3AN clutch line, in the picture, directly to the flex hose portion of the clutch line, in the engine bay. It will completely replace the hard line which routes from the OEM slave to over the driver side valve cover. Gladly to because that hardline is very annoying.

    Here is a valved Jiffy-Tite fitting. The plugged end. Unfortunately the socket end won't arrive until Friday, and I plan on having my truck running tonight, so that pair of fittings will have to wait until a little later date.

    The reason that I purchased the valved quick connect fittings is so that if ever I need to remove the transmission, all I have to do is slide the lock on the socket, and the line will be unattached, while also not bleeding out or letting air in the system. ^_^

    Adjustable throwout bearing but not adjusted.

    I actually had to "fab" up a spacer from the AC Delco TOB so that mine would be able to reach the fingers of the clutch. Needless to say, this is a temporary fix, and a spacer was ordered yesterday from McLeod.

    And then the last of the progress from last night. Never again will I install the trans on this truck, with the bell housing attached to the engine first. (As per the instructions from APR) Such a pain in the ass!

    As long as the engine mounts do, then it should be fine.

    Have you thought about getting a reinforcement kit from either DMZ of Solo? Mainly built for Offroading but might be an added safety feature for you.

    I haven't looked at those companies. Do you have any links, cause that would be great.

    I looked quite a lot previously for different forms to reinforce it, but couldn't find anything that looked like it would work. I did learn that I need to invert my crossmember that is right behind the trans. The new low get make the 4" drive shaft really close to the cross member as is it. And it has already been modded higher and stronger before. Now it needs to be modded again.

    Ohhh....ok. I was thinking you were referring to a reinforcement for the trans. These are a necessity as well though. Seen them before on other people's trucks. And from some stuff I have seen on sdxrunner's drift XR. Thank you for the links sir. :thumbsup:

    So I just read your build twice from the beginning in the past month and I gotta say it never ceases to amaze me. Heck I could read this over and over for the next 20years and still be in awe at what you've done. It's like a story you'd tell your kids, who would tell their kids and so on. Just epic!     Well, got some good news and bad.....Good news is that I am getting really fast at throwing the transmission in. Bad news is that there is some sort of clearance issue, and I am trying to figure it out.

    Here are the pictures.

    Due to the AN to Metric brake line adapter fitting, I was able to completely remove the hard line and bracket which were right here, for the clutch.

    The line runs perfectly along the body to the OEM flex hose. Which will also be replaced a little later.

    And then we were to this point on Wednesday afternoon.....

    Well shortly after that point, we decided to start the truck and make sure everything was fine.

    First it wouldn't start, and second, I could barely turn the engine over with the transmission in neutral.

    So we pulled the transmission back out that night, to be able to check over all of the measurements which I had previously taken.


    In all seriousness, sometimes I feel battered by the fact that I have to customize and troubleshoot so mufh of this custom stuff that I do. Battered, but not broken. It makes me wish that someone else had done it before me, so that all I would have to do is read what was documented and install or do whatever. Because of that wish, it drives me to do exactly that for anyone else to learn from. So that these bumps in the road can be smoothed out for the rest. And also as an archive for myself to go back incase I need a refresher kn something. Lol.

    I really appreciated the kind words RedLantern. And once I figure out how to overcome this latest hurdle, I will definitely be that much closer. Just won't be able to work on it until next week, since I had some family recently come in town.

    Checking clearances with the bell housing on, we noticed how very close the flywheel was to it.

    Here is the OEM desing. The ring gear would extend further than the flywheel.

    This is the opposite on the McLeod flywheel, due to it necessary design.

    So just to be on the safe side, I ground down the closest areas.
