You aren't lying However, that grinding was just a preventative measure. With the bell housing on, the engine starts and runs just fine. I am pretty confident that I know what the problem is though, and it frustrates me that I didn't go ahead and check any way.

The instructions clearly state not to disassemble the clutch from its adapter plate. That it has been setup and disks propely aligned by McLeod themselves. So due to that, I never just picked up the clutch and slid it onto the input shaft, just to double check. When I was under there Wednesday night, it looked to me like the second disk was maybe a few thousandths off from the first disk. But I cannot tell how far in the alignment tool is with the clutch attached to the engine. So it makes it hard to tell if it is actually going all the way through the both of them. I have a plan to be able to try to align both disks without having to drop the transmission. In theory, it should work. So I will update once I get to try.

Also, the other half to my Jiffy-Tite quick disconnect fitting for the clutch came in yesterday. So that will be going on today. Hopefully I can fix this issue in about 30 minutes time today. Hopefully.

 

This gets me all warm and fuzzy. A little something to pass the time until my truck is driveable.

Once I get my truck up and running properly, I am going to have to hop on H.I. and get to know some people.

Toon just had to many things working against him to be able to make it this year. Mine....well...clearly it is was down, despite my best efforts. But even if it were ready, it would only have been N/A.

SIK X was able to make it out. Not sure if he dyno'd though? He was able to get in some decent line ups though.

Lucario runner was also out there. He made it to dyno day, but the dyno messed up with Mullet on it. Just a few cars before his 4Runner, so he didn't even get his dyno.

I made it out to Hennessey on Sunday for the finals. That was fun.

Yes. These are specific to brake fluids. I used the builder in the link to find the proper fittings, then ordered them. Paul at Dezod said that he can get them.

So you could do all quick disconnects for all brakes, if you wanted.

I guess it would then be flip flop low.

They are still holding on tightly, but driveways are now the Anti-mudflap.

 

During the first test drive, a couple problems presented thsmselves. Although, I was already under the idea that they very likely would anyway. So I had to schedule an appointment at PowerFab for some work.


Last Friday night, the 22nd of March, I got to work in Britt's garage. That is where the truck had to stay until I could make it driveable to get to PowerFab on Saturday morning. I had to cut out this cross member(which was already custom) and move the ebrake lines a little.

 

Here is what it looked like after the first time that I had the crossmember modded. For reference.

Due to the new low, it just needed to be flipped over.



Here you can see where I had to slot the area where the brake lines came through the cab. As one cable was juuuuuuust rubbing.




The axle also had rotated upward a slight bit, due to the axle perches flex, and not being welded on. Which was something that I knew had to be done anyway. A little spirited shifting by a test driver, brought it to light sooner than expected though. It was all good though. No real harm was done.





So Alex welded it all back up for me, and it is good to go now.

I'm getting an itch to turbo my Scion Tc... either that or I'm thinking I wanna go for the most insane naturally aspirated build. Like lightweight internals and better gaskets first before hand so then I'll have a built engine already should I ever really want to turbo.

Though rumour mills say TRD is prototyping an S/c for the tC.

 

If it is anything like the first gen tC S/C, then I would just get a turbo kit. 8psi on a Greddy kit, and yours will make ~330 whp. TRD S/C won't touch that. Unless they have something up their sleeves.......

You know this. Haha. Those Aerocatch pins look best right there, right now. The hood looks like junk, where all of the clear coat is coming off. Horrible actually. It needs a new paint job badly.

Definitely a theft deterrent though.

Me a guy at the Lonestar Drift event on Sunday. He was had a sweet turbo'd FT-86. Any way, I can't remember which shop he mentioned, but said that some shop had tested the stock engine, with its 12 or 12.5:1 (?) compression, to 30 psi. Said they put down ~ 900whp. How true, or how long it lasted, I have no clue. Definitely against convention though.

 

Hmmmm... Wasn't aware of this, I have zero experience with turbo's. Maybe just full lightweight internals without messing with the compression ratios??

I doubt the TRD would touch that, probably just the basic 5 PSI (same as Tacoma TRD's s/c w/out mods) so they can warrantee it with little to no issues.
