That^^^. The smells and sounds of the track.The the aroma of tires after being pushed to their limits. Race gas in the exhaust. Feels like I just belong there.

Damn. So if there is gear oil at the speed/ABS sensor your seal is gone?
I might be doing one soon.

 

I would say so. I even had gear oil on the lug nuts when I took them off.

The spring in the seal was barely held in place when I removed the axle. About 125k miles on the clock. Pretty easy swap, and seal was about $10. Some grease on the contact portion of the seal, after install, and it was good to go. Felt great having my braking back. I have a feeling that it had been leaking for quite a long time.

I have a few things to fix on the truck, but my truck will be back up and running in not time. So once you make it down to TX, we'll have to meet up.

Fix timing cover leak. Fix Jiffy Tite quick disconnect for clutch.

Contacted Staubli about their No Drip Quick disconnects. As a replacement for the Jiffy Tite. $320 for both Staubli halves, where as both halves of the Jiffy Tite was $66.

Love your build, Bro. Was just telling some guy about your truck, he said Tacoma's are great and all but just don't quite have the power he wanted so he was getting a tundra for the 300+ horses. I just chuckled and informed him of the beauties of forced induction lol

 

Yeah! haha Tor was putting down almost as much power as a TRD S/C'd Tundra prior to building his motor. Although at this point his is likely more invested...

 

I will say if Torspd had some boost, he would have been on of the fastest in the novice class that day. I mean he was catching up to cars on CORNER ENTRY.....most people were so dependent on their horsepower rather than their skill.

 

Yea the guy was like...I want a truck that can go fast on and offroad...Tundra's just put more horses to the ground...

I had to enlighten him about forced induction and power to weight ratios. I may have made a convert lol. Told him about riding with Jberry and smoking a Raptor . Was a fun day

My friend is getting his TRD S/C put on Friday and I told him we need to take his Taco and his Legacy Spec B and have a race now. Car will still smoke the Taco though just because it is so much lighter even though it is only putting out about the same amount of power as the factory 4.0L Taco. S/C'd V6 Taco will be no match for Turbo'd I4 Spec B... but it would still be fun I think! haha

 

I plan on S/C'ing someday. Just kicking around TRD or URD. TRD will go well with my TRD CAI and Catback exhaust. But URD is putting out alot more power, along with multiple other mods and alot more monies lol

 

A modded out TRD setup with typically walk all over a modded out URD setup when put head to head, other than on a dyno. At least that is according to most everyone over on the XR-U website, I don't have any experience with either yet.

I am still sticking to the plan of doing like Tor and Werty. I want to build up my motor to the level Tor has, 4.4L and all so I don't have to worry about damaging it but instead of a Turbo I want the instant power of an S/C but like Werty I will do the URD kit but with an even bigger S/C than the MKIII kit has, probably the same one Werty ran I imagine. But that is all way in the future... LT first

 

Yup. LT first, then S/C...then possibly a 4x4 conversion. Hopefully in a few years it will be more cost effective as parts become cheaper/more readily available.

 

New Taco or what? Hate yours after all you've been through in the last month or would it be an x-runner type truck?
