Purchased a Mother's brand headlight restore kit. Came with a compound buffing wheel that you attach to the drill. About three times on each headlight, and wow. Quite impressed for the ease of work needed. Took my time on each pass, and made sure to overlap each row and column of movement. Doesnt look brand new, but doesn't look like they have 125k miles any more either.

I am pleased with the outcome.

Lucario Runner came down from SA as well. Went to a Ferrari meet earlier, then figured out how to do a slimilar oil cooler setup on his T4R as well.

Doesn't look to be to much different than how mine is.

 

Tor two quick questions.

When you installed your aeromotive stealth pump were you still running it as a two speed pump like the factory one, or did it just run flat out? (The hilux pump is two speed I assume yours is too.)

In your travels when looking for the t56 and suitable transfercase did you ever come across a transfercase with low range to suit the t56 with a left hand drop?

 

It is installee with the factory fuel pump wires, in the fuel tank. Cut and spliced. So it is dual rate, per factory setup.

As for the transmission, the only searching I did was for an AWD T-case. Not one which has low, or additional low gear selection. In fact, it isn't even selectable by manual actuation to go from AWD to RWD.
It does however, have that ability, when a vacuum source is attached.




Aside from all of that, did quite a bit of research yesterday, with the good aid of Lucario Runner, to find a different manufacturer for my 14" rotors. WILWOOD is out of the question. Their rotor to hat bolt pattern uses 12 bolts, while ROTORA's rotor uses 10. AP Racing is the same as Wilwood.

Made a little headway with Stop Tech, but need to verify some details with the P/Ns which we received yesterday. Other than that, only last choice is Brembo, since we didn't look at their parts catalog.

All of the resaerch is due to the fact that the ROTORA rotors are $350 each. Not including the hats. Quite expensive.

Also dropped off a wheel at SABS to have a dent fixed.

 

What about endless rotors?

Did get some info from a new source, but don't remember how to spell the name and don't want to butcher it. Going to look through that email and do some comparing. Hsve to look through Endless' catalog too now.

 

No need, just get a parachute. Advanced planning is required though as it's only good once.

You know, I am going to take this back. This solution is definitely NOT high-tech enough for your build.

I am now thinking that you need a reverse-turbo setup. You can either set it up to direct the pressure back into the cylinders on decelleration such that you get killer engine braking, or you could direct the turbo forward on decel such that it acts like thrust reverser.

How about that??

JK, I like your build thread simply because it shows what can/can't, or should/shouldn't, be done on a Tacoma. Doesn't matter what you own, someone, somewhere will push the limits to see what it's capable of.

 

I think the space-time continuum might inversely proportionally implode upon itself! Great Scott, that would be something!

Or....it might just work. I'll sacrifice Lucario Runner for the first test. He's the expert with those sorts of things. Lol
