At least it is almost finished for MSR. Which has still been a heck of a challenge.

Cams should be at Darton by the end of this week. Been some unexpected delays in that realm. Then we can finally get that engine finished.....

 

Test drive went flawlessly last night.

Homer, if you thought it was easy to take off in 1st last time, you will be amazed how easy it is now.

I need to adjust the clutch pedal, though. Doesn't reach the start sensor anymore, strangely. Luckily for clutch start cancel button.

A few punch list items to take care of before the race, and it will be done!

On to wrenching on Lucario Runner's T4R and my roommate's tC. Getting theirs ready as well.

New front boots. One is installed now. And then oil and trans fluid change. Lucky for me the weather is warming up

 

Replacing the boots/isolation pads that the springs rest against at the top of the strut. Then the fluid change.

Rob tapped his Greddy oil cooler sandwich plate fittings last night. From 1/8PT to 1/8NPT. Now it is install time, and fabbing up some mounting brackets for the cooler.

yeah, Rob, good thing you weren't down for the weekend. way too cold and wet.

 

It was pretty cold in Sa too :/ to the point I had to plug in my powerstroke to start it. The boost was nice though

Had to drop the transmission again yesterday. Was having a very difficult time engaging gears, as well as the fact the clutch pedal had a very limited stroke.

Upon tinkering with the TOB, we noticed that it was extremely hard to extend and depress by hand. Opened it up, and found a few large metal shavings inside. Not sure how they got there, but there was clear scoring where a piece was wedged between moving parts. Luckily in an area that wasn't affecting seals.

Cleaned it up, double checked measurements, & re-installed it last night. Works like a charm now. So fluid and smooth. Unbelievable. Lucario Runner and I put in some serious work yesterday.

Vids are painfully slowly uploading. Annnnd for some reason they videos play very glitchy on my computer. And power supply burnt up last night as well.

We flipped one video yesterday, then uploaded it. That in itself took something like 6 hourse. Phuuuu...

All 5 of us went with out issues, and and 5 came back the same. Also, the oil cooler kits which I installed on my truck and Lucario Runner's T4R, worked very well.

Took A LOT of work to get our vehicles ready for the event. Up until about 12:30 AM Saturday morning wrenching, of the race day. But we did it and it was an absolute blast!

In the Novice DE, of the 5 of us, Grumpy in his SWB XR was laying down the fastest lap times. (The most power and skill combined.) I was putting down the 2nd fastest times (Good skill, but lowest power 1GR there.) 3rd was Jeff, in the stock engine tC (great skill & but lowest overall power). Then Danny was 4th. (Most power, and novice skill. He has greatly improved though.)

Lucario Runner. ....Excellent driving skill, and held his own very well against a pack of highly powered cars. Best he could do considering that most the cars in his class have a lot more power.
