Time to make my build page!
I went TC crazy on my 2nd gen. I put on their UCA's. They looked far nicer than my lowers so I spent the cash to get the TC lower control arms. I decided that my spindles needed gusseting at the same time. I put on the TC sway bar retention gussets. I figure if I decide to drop that later, I can. I got all new seals, and bought a set of Jersey Built hubs.

This is where I am getting confused. I have my uppers on along with my lowers. My shocks are out to simplify the process. I put a new National seal in the back of my spindle and I bought new 90304-A0001 from the Stealership. When I try to mate up the spindle to the lower with the CV in the middle it appears that my spindle is sticking out 3/4ths of an inch from the mounting points on the lower when the two seals are together. It's like my CV shaft grew during the process. I'm crazy right? What did I do wrong?

New idea. I've replaced everything in the front fender wheels except for the CVs. I think I'll call CVJ tomorrow and swap those out too.

I have a ton of play in my CVs and I find a gap where they go into the trans. The boots are stretched out as well. Why not start from scratch!

Post a picture of your cv, you could have pulled the "tulip" out of the cv inner housing.

Did I "de-flower" my CV? Is it still a good idea to swap them while I swap everything else?

Yea that's exactly what happened, it can be saved you just have to twist the cv and get the tulips to line back up with the cup. Then push it into the cup.
20160328_173905.jpgIn the picture you can see the tulip piece that slides in the cup.

I'm going to give it the old college try, and if that fails I'll yank both and put in CVJ replacements. I've already spent way too much, I might as well go for broke... literally. I am relieved that I didn't imagine that the spindle wasn't lining up with the lowers.
