image.jpg I believe ive seen a similar thread in the past before getting new uca's but couldn't relocate so feel free to move if needed.

So ive had the total chaos uca's installed for maybe only a couple hundred miles. They work great for as much as ive used them but while washing the truck yesteimage.jpg rday i noticed a spot where the uniball bolt hit the wheel well pretty good. I haven't really even had a chance to do any real wheeling so it kinda stressing me out. I didnt even hear or feel i so if it occurred while just dropping off a curb or something no bueno. Has anyone else had this problem image.jpg

Sometimes it feels like my Uca is smashing the wheel well but I'm usually doing 60mph on a dirt road for that to happen

Adjust your front bump stops to stop that from happening.

You can get spacers from wheelers and maybe that'll help

Idk man I'd have a hard time believing the uni ball all could get that far up.
Pull that doesn't look like a fresh tear. I don't see bare metal it look actually like there may be undercoating on the edge.
Did u buy the truck used. Any chance it was already there.

Def looks like there is undercoating in the hole too.
if it was mine id double check my bumpstops pound that back up. Weld it so road spray can't get in there and rust things. And repaint.

Possibly. Im still kicking myself for not installing these. Did the install on my first truck. Just working too much and too impatient
image.jpgIt could've happened after suspension install with factory bumps I suppose. I will look into spacers. The gap is usually smaller, maybe 5/8+. Surprised i didnt feel the impact though. Probably need to fully compress suspension/ stuff tire to see what spacers would work well if any. My brother has a forklft at shop isnt that a good way to test since id be doing any work there anyway

Best way to test is to remove the coilover, and use a jack under the LCA to raise the tire. That'll give you the best idea.

It's definitely fresh. No tear just dent with some undercoatimg hangin that must have been from the the bolt above uniball. Only thing that makes since to me. Thought about it being from previous owner but the stock ucas wouldn't have caused that. Its a direct line to that bolt head. Hopefully it was done with stock bumps. Just a little scary since like i said no real offroading yet

Yep. This way you can fully cycle your suspension without any strain on anything. It's also a great way to see where your tires rub on stuff.

I have the same hole in my wheel well from my total chaos long travel kit, your best bet is to cycle your suspension and use washers to extend your bumps if needed. Surprised that happened on yours with the mid travel as my old tacoma had the same et up without an issue. Revalving your coilovers in the future could help too but overall your bumps need to be set up

Ok thanks yea everything is very bolt on right now. Really haven't dialed anything in. I could have just totally missed seeing that spot and by degreasing wheel well it made it more pronounced. It lokks to be directly above uniball bolt head so I just assumed it was from that. But you know about me assuming

Ohh I see the undercoating is whats hanging. Don't be scared man its just inner fender, LOL on various trucks ive had I've smashed bashed, bent over pinch welds etc. Hell even cut them out for shock hoops.
LOL I remember on my 04 I took the tires off and was giving full force blows with at 10 lb sledge to the pinchwelds. Prob gonna have to do it with this truck to.
