Yeah I would say you're correct about it being from your upper uca bolt, I mean you can still fully stuff your wheel well with mid travel. The reason I suggested getting some valving work on your shocks is because A) it will ride even better and B) it seems like it might be valved a bit soft if you haven't had a big hit and it reached bump like that.

What size springs, how much preload on your coilover (what is it set at? 1" or 2.5" of lift, etc)

I believe the springs are 600lbs or 650 eibach, cant quite remember off the top of my head. As far as height i would guess around 2.5"+ or so. After installed did 5 complete turns on each side. Didn't have a stock height but from center of hub to fender I'm measuring 23". From what ive read it seems stock access cabs seem to be about 20.5"ish. Would be interested in getting them valved for this truck for optimum performance but honestly wouldn't even know where to start or who would do this. This is my dd and work truck so unfortunately i have to carry around a bunch of tools but still love going out on the weekends. I was just going to put on 2.5" toytec springs on the bilsteins set at 0 but very last minute said screw it (was making good money) and thanks! @txmxer

Well your spring rate sounds right and valving isnt something you need to do immediately, I would say get your bumps in order and you'll be good. A lot of shops can do the revolve in the future by the way, basically any offroad "pre runner" shop. But yeah get your bumps in order and you'll be good I believe, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

OP the wheelers superbumps actually compress a hair more than stock bumps, so spacers are needed if you are jamming the inner wheel well. DO yourself a favor and if you have a Gopro throw it up in the wheel well somewhere safe and just get some video of your suspension while driving and try to hit some bumps to get a feel for how its reacting. As said above, your valving could be a bit soft. The only time I ever did the same thing you did was offroad hitting some pretty big bumps at speed that caused the front end to max out.

Ok sounds good and thanks again! Yea obviously not a 'hardcore' offroader so didnt really think it was totally necessary to . Probably would have been content with the bilstein setup but damn these are way smoother, im somewhat educatedly guessing. Plan on making some 1/8" or so spacers and stacking em/ cycling suspension til i get to where i need to be.
I was planning to do just that and ask my bro if i could borrow his go pro. That should really show me whats goin on. Thanks a lot for the input @VolcomTacoma

You'll be happy you went with the coilovers, smooth as butter!

Digging this up because I discovered the same issue on my truck today though I have a different suspension setup. I installed wheelers superbumps and went out to the sand dunes and hit a few of them harder than I should have. It was my first time going to the dunes, but I normally stick to forest service roads. I went ahead and ordered a pair of 1/4" poly spacers. Should do the trick, though I don't intend to hit the dunes again in the near future.
