Talk to the insurance company and make them payout for medical inconvenience. I sustained no injuries a year ago and got them to pay out 3k for inconvenience. You could definitely get more because of your injuries.

Good point...also see how you feel in a week or so. Sometimes injuries show up after the initial inflammation and what not goes down. :notsure:

Agreed, my little 5-luggy gets me around in the city and it's great for that purpose. For my application, it's perfectly ideal.

To the OP: Your Taco looks to be a total loss and isn't really feasible as a rebuild. I would move on and find something else. Glad your injuries weren't too serious!

Yeah, it actually does. I use snow chains when it’s really bad. I have not gotten the opportunity to try out my Cooper Discoverer AT/3s in the snow yet...

Remember the 2006 episode of South Park where everyone buys hybrids, and they get so smug that it creates a deadly “smug cloud”? Maybe the same thing happens with Jeep owners?

It looks done, The B pillar looks in bad shape, and I would bet the frame damage is very very severe. Glad your ok! ask around to see if someone has the same truck or better. There may be hope to get something similar or better. I saw and 93 5 lug for 6k on facebook marketplace in missouri.

My boss at my last job had a 1997 Jeep Wrangler with the 2.5L 4-banger and 5-speed manual, with over 180K on the clock. The engine had the usual issues that came with old age and high mileage, but I'd say as a whole it was fairly dependable. The 4.0Ls are also pretty much bulletproof if you maintain them. However, I'd love to see a 2007-2011 Wrangler JK attain the mileage my truck has reached (almost 107K) without something breaking (the pre-2012 JKs have the same engine has a Grand Caravan!). My friend's fiancé has a 2014 with the 3.6L Pentastar and has about 90K on it with no issues, but I almost NEVER see Wranglers with the kind of mileage we put on our trucks (one of the rare exceptions being my former boss who has a '97 with 181K).

If the insurance would pay $1500, but you needed to pay $250 to buy it, you would need to sell $1750 worth of parts in order to break even... is that possible with this truck? Probably not. The math may of course be different depending on what the insurance adjuster says.

The answer for that one is sadly yes. The way the cab is crushed in like that you'll need a new one. If you're doing the work yourself, not worth the time, and if a shop is doing the work, not worth the time OR the money.
I get where you're coming from man. From those pics, it looks like it could almost be fixed. I'm guessing it even drove itself up onto the flatbed. But there will be hidden damage and stuff will never line back up after such a high-energy hit. It will never be the same. If you do buy it back, you could pull the engine and the drivetrain, you said it has low miles, and send the rest on its way.

    Glad you're okay.

Take the money and run.I bought back my 2012 tacoma. It didn't look bad cosmetically but the frame was slightly bent. After running across a few problems.I found out my rear axle was bent.I ended up with a salvaged title.I think I still came out ahead. But damn it was headache getting it back right again.

Really glad you're okay, OP. I feel for your loss, I'd be devastated to lose mine (it's my first vehicle). Especially with all of the work I recently finished. I'd pop off the emblem (ha, or even the whole front grill) and hang that on the garage wall or frame it. Best way to remember it for sure.

Also, definitely take your time on accepting any pay outs from insurance. Medical issues can linger and may not be discovered until a month or so down the line. Once they cut you a check they're usually out.

Jesus, would it be that low? I've never been involved in anything like this (thankfully). I always assumed they'd pay out the bluebook value or something. How can they give you so little when they're still selling for $7000?
