Using a 2000 Tacoma SR5 2.7L xtracab with 159k miles on the frame & 65k on the engine. Ill be purchasing a 16ft Airstream Bambi GVWR 3,500 Base 2,860.
I LOVE this truck to death but understand it has limits, would this Airstream be one of them? It would be towed into Colorado mountains & long trips, lots up incline/decline.

Hi, Been towing a r-pod trailer with a 1998 tacoma x-cab 4 cyl for a few years The truck really struggles climbing hills while towing. The trailer weighs a bit over 3000 lbs when loaded with a tongue weight about 300 lbs. Climbing the the Sierra hills was quite challenging. The hills approaching Yosemite are quite steep. Had to down shift to 1st gear on parts of hwy 120. If you plan to tow more than a few weeks a year then use a more appropriate vehicle. Good Luck and have Fun AJ
