I am in the middle of remodling a home and needed to get a trailer for the dump. So I ended up getting a 5X12 dual axel trailer. So I loaded it up along with the bed of my a/c tacoma. Now this trailer did not have brakes installed on it. Anyway, be very careful when towing a heavy load. The brakes are so soft and mushy. When I got to the dump they weighed me in at 8 tons. That was the truck and trailer with the trash. The truck towed like a dream but like I said, be very careful when braking!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Dude..there's NO WAY you had a total weight of 8 tons!!!!
Maybe....8000lbs.... but definately not 8 tons!!

    8 tons = 17,000lbs.

If you did actually weigh in at 8 tons - Someone please take your license away!!!

Do you realize, the truck has a GVWR of 5200lbs (or close to). The GCWR is something like 8100lbs.

It's illegal to go beyond the GCWR!!

no wonder it didn't stop too good :)

But yes I do agree the taco is no stopping machine with a load and no trailer brakes. Anyone have warped rotors because of this?

if it really did weigh in at 8 tons then the scales are broken. no taco can haul anything close to what your describing. not possible
