Haven't pulled a trailer with the gauge on a very hot day yet, but on a ~75 degree day the highest I saw was 203° near the top of a very long steep hill with a 3000 lb trailer. I wasn't babying it because I wanted to see what the temp hit under some stress. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much unless I had sustained high temps. A spike around that for a minute or so occasionally isn't a big deal, and from what I've seen, that's all mine does. I have the factory tow package cooler.

On hotter days (maybe 85°, I don't think it has ever been 98° here), I've seen temps right around 200° without a trailer if I go up a long enough, steep enough hill.

Worth mentioning that Toyota has followed this standard since at least 2011. My truck is rated at 6300 lbs, just like the 2015 DCLB 4x4.

Thanks! It has been a great tractor for what I need. Had I not found it, I would have gone with a Kubota.

Tows fine on the flats. Haven't needed to tow it through hills yet. You will definitely feel the weight back there, and I imagine that it will slow down on steep grades, but using the right gear on the Taco will help.

With the proper brake controller, weight distribution hitch, and brakes on the trailer, it will work well. Here are some more photos and references on my gear:

Something I noticed over the weekend, I recently put a 30" light bar in the lower grill slot on my junk, cruising temps went from 135ish to around 150ish now.
I think the light bar will get repositioned or removed, I'm not blind enough to buy a transmission
