I'll also add that totaled is just a number. If your truck was only a couple years old with the same damage it would be getting repaired without an issue. It's the age that does it in.

Yeah I know, either way, as long as the truck is back to me I'm fine.

Good news! The truck is not being totaled! Turns out Florida law is 85% of value so I was far from totaled. She should be back in my hands in about 3 weeks.

Glad you're getting back your truck.

    Why the three week wait?

Great news. South Carolina is 75%. I have a lot of sentimental value in my truck as well and reading about your situation wasn't fun for me lol but I'm glad you are getting to keep the truck

Well, I was keeping it either way. It has so much sentimental value to me, I'd have just rebuilt the title and fixed the truck and left it at that. I plan on driving it until the wheels fall off and then it's gonna be a strict trail rig.

Why wasn't it fun though? Haha. She just got punched in the face by an Elantra. I wish I could say something cooler than that. An Elantra of all things.

It may have had to do with my experience with my first car, also a 2008 Hyundai... A bad experience I wish to never have again lol I probably transferred some of my dislike of that car to my feelings about you hitting one, not at your fault. The subconscious is a crazy thing haha

Well, just a long overdue update on my truck. Insurance approved fixing it weeks ago. And as of today, everything has been replaced and painted. I got a whole new front end, new windshield, battery, lights, fender, bumper, grille, interior pieces, headlight housings, radiator, core support, all kinds of stuff. And I've been covered with a ford rental truck.

    I'll have her back Tuesday!

Damn man that really sucks, such a beautiful truck! Hope they fix it. Mine got rear ended not long ago and bent the frame but I already had a new one on the way so I lucked out. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Glad it's working out and seems it'll be better than before................We had an Elantra once, walked out in the garage caught my truck taking a piss on it. We had been wondering what the faunky smell was. We got rid of it. The dealership where we traded it in liked the smell and we got extra on trading it in. Go figure. Maybe it was because we traded it in for a RAV4. Who cares, it didn't deserve to share a garage with the Tacoma anyway.
