Thanks to this website I realized there is a tsb for the tailgate and the suspension. I called Toyota of El Cajon, and they got me in right away, ordered the parts and two days later they called me to set up a time to drop my truck off.

They are replacing the tailgate, all the shocks and springs, and gave me a rental car. The rental car is pretty nice too, a 2009 Impala SS! I told them I would be out of town when my truck finishes up, and they told me I can keep the rental car for 6 days. I guess I know what I'm driving on my trip to Sacramento!

Lance was the service guy I was dealing with and has been great. I highly recommend dealing with these guys, everyone has been super nice, not like Bob Baker where I bought the truck. They are so un-organized it takes them three hours to do a oil change!

I bent it a couple weeks ago when I had two dirt bikes in the back. I bent it back, and planned on reinforcing it with some diamond plate. No need now.
