    It should be what you had from the factory, that's what my 2009 had (I still have it in my garage). You can still buy these filters but the cost is ridiculous. I bought a case last year for $150.00.

    The sponge media filter used to be an oem filter replacement (think Lexus V8) and is still used as the born with filter from the assembly line.

    Now that they are difficult to get, it's actually kind of funny. Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode with Elaine..."are you sponge worthy?"

    Nice to see my years of recommending OEM Toyota parts vindicated.

    The biggest difference I've noticed is how drastically much more filter media the ToMoCo filter has. The hell with endcaps...that's what the filter casing is for! Give me more (synthetic fiber, perfectly evenly spaced) media!

    To add, The Toyota filter has a much more uniform media. And its more consistant media. Hard to explain, but the others looked like they were recycled, for lack of a better descriptor. I was supprised to see the K&N and Mobil 1 filters had the LEAST amount of media.
