The area is gorgeous, in Jan me and the wife did some state roads and ended up running power lines through the snow. not sure how legal it is but going toward lake clear there are some nice trails. no super technical but still fun

Not sure. My sister-in-law set it up. My digital assistant has asked her digital assistant for the address.

I don't think it's the Ausable River bc I know the house is 5-10 mins out of Lake Placid. Maybe it's in North Elba?

It's always fun in the snow! I've been out when it's raining cats and dogs, and when there was 18" of snow. That's when a less rocky trail with inclines is great. Deep snow and tricky rocks are probably not a great combo.

Sounds great. I’m sure there are a million places to wheel in the area. Not like downstate NY, where you have to scratch and claw to find trails.

I'm definitely excited for something closer to home. Being in Plattsburgh makes it difficult to go to these events 5+ hours away and I don't know of any trails up here

Well, I’ll be in Lake Placid 7/21 - 7/27. It’s about an hour from Plattsburgh, so maybe we can find someplace in between and meet up one day. PM me if interested.

Anyone have any experience in purchasing a vehicle outside of NY?
I know a newly purchased vehicle has be been insured, registered, and temp inspection sticker before you hit the road? how does buying a vehicle out of state work? Does the out-of-state dealer register and license it for you? If it’s a private seller, are you expected to make two trips? One to purchase the vehicle and return with the title to register and another return trip to pick up the vehicle?

You get the temp/transit plate from the sellers state.

Hey everyone, I’m moving to the West Point area the end of this year. Just looking to say hello and I’m excited to be back where the weather gets cold during the winter. I’ve been in Hawaii the last 3 years so my family is pretty excited!!

are there any off-road shops near West Point? I’m planning on getting mods done ahead of time, but I’m wanting to add more to the truck and my 4Runner while I’m living there.
