I missed the customer support program because mine were not melting during the covered period but now they are and look like crap.

Can anyone who got the re-engineered headlights comment on how they are holding up over time with same factory hot DLR bulbs? I don’t want to get them if there are any issues.

I have a credit with Toyota and am considering using my credit to pick up the re-engineered sport headlights.

Also, does anyone know if the re-engineered sport lenses have the same dark bezel and same general dark look as the original sport lenses from factory for 2005-2011 models?

Any pics of the new sport lenses would be much appreciated for 2005-2011 trim. I gotta make a decision early this week before a parts coupon I have expires.

    Thanks in advance!

From what I can tell, the new housings appear to have a glass lense in place of the plastic ones that were discoloring and starting to bubble. No issues at all with the new housings.

I also have a sport model and was concerned about having the "smoked" headlights that were included with my trim package when I bought the truck new. The replacement housings did have the smoked bezels like the ones they replaced.

Does anyone have more info for me? My 2011 are badly burnt. Both sides. And now, one is leaking and full of water and moisture. Sigh.

    This looks like shit, Toyota!

I just called and of course Toyota claims I'm not covered under this TSB even though I have the old style headlamps that are melted.. Does this sound right or are they just giving me the run around? 2008 dbsb

To bad my 2010 TRD sport is showing signs of the defect Right headlight has moisture and it hasn't rained in months, replaced the left DRL bulb shortly after I bought it. Will try to reseal the right headlight and remove both lights until I can replace both headlights. Only has 37K but 3 years late on the recall. Went out and looked can't remove bulbs, part of turn signal Duh. Is there a way to disable the DLR function?

Here is another option for a DIY approach to fixing the melting lens
