Had the headlights installed on Friday, great to have them done after 85k and no warranty.

I started this thread as a recall only cause thats how my dealer put it. I have had few pm's on its title. So for the sake of that if a mod sees this you can change title . I personally like the title cause it gets ppl to read it. Not dismiss it as another OP complaining

Does this work for Canadian taco's too? I tried searching on the Toyota Canada site but it wasn't working and according to the recall pdf my VIN is in range

Got mine replaced today, both DTRL were burnt through, took it in last Friday and took 1 week to get them ordered. I sure am glad I waited before buying replacements, almost pulled the trigger on some EBAY replacements. No cost on two OEM headlights and labor is wonderful. I just wonder what caused Toyota to go ahead with this, was it the NTSB complaints? or just Toyota worried about fires starting because of faulty parts?

So i got the warranty enhancement letter, has anyone tried to get this redeemed after doing bhlm??

I have also just switched to led as i have been through 3 or 4 pair of standard bulbs due to overheating melting the receptacle they are plugged in to and failing.

Yes Oz, I saw that... but BEFORE that line is this line:

    Applicability
The headlamp assembly is covered by Toyota’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty
for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever occurs first). However, Toyota is
announcing a Warranty Enhancement Program to cover the replacement of the headlamp assemblies if the inner daytime running light/turn signal has become distorted or bubbled in appearance.

That is the way my dealer is reading this, ie. they will replace BOTH IF both are damaged.

Can anyone provide me with better ammo to get my other lamp changed?

I looked up recalls and put my vin in. It came back no recalls for my truck. So I called the dealer I purchased it at & they gave me an appointment to bring the truck in to take a look at her. Let you know what they say.

Wouldn't happen. Once they are modified, they are no longer cover under any type of warranty, including warranty extensions. If yours are doing this, just open them and remove the turn lenses.

They replaced mine yesterday, no questions asked. Mine were both bubbled the same amount.

I made an appointment next week to get my headlights replaced on my 2008 DC. I was just about to get an aftermarket set or do the bhlm. I know it's a long shot but I was going to ask them if they can install the oem smoked headlights. Thy most likely will tell me no. I love the look of the black chrome headlights but I wouldn't want to dismantle a brand new set to do the mod. Do people have problems with leaking after doing the black headlight mod?
