Diode Dynamics carries LED bulbs for replacement of your Toyota Tacoma's fog lights, in all major sizes. They are available in HP, XP, and SLF styles. Designed to provide maximum usable light, our fog light LED bulbs provide FAR more output than the Tacoma's factory fogs! Just simple plug and play, replace the bulb and you're good to go!

All our fog light LED bulbs are designed and tested at our facility in St. Louis and built with the highest quality components. As with all our lighting upgrades, these LED bulbs are backed by our three-year worry-free warranty!

Brightness:

Diode Dynamics offers several brightness options so you can choose what fits you best. These options are listed by the design and the lumen output of each bulb, compared to the factory bulb.

HP48: 265 lumens. Slightly lower brightness than factory.

XP80: 510 lumens. Similar brightness to factory.

SLF: Street Legal Output Option, brightest model available!


Bulb Design

HP48: This bulb is designed with 48 Epistar 3014 LED chips. Thanks to the cap on the top, the light from this High Power Bulb is shined backwards and away from the bulb, not straight out. This means the output is excellent, because it uses the vehicle's housing completely, which then shines the light much more uniformly.

XP80: Each of the four sides of this bulb contains three 5W-rated chips, and the top is fitted with four more, under a projector lens. This is the brightest self-contained automotive LED bulb on the market, and is housed in an aluminum casing with a textured finish for maximum heatsinking properties.

SLF: Our #1 Fog Light LED Bulb for the Tacoma, the SLF features an avanced optical design to achieve an extremely bright, focused beam pattern! Unlike generic LED bulbs, we've verified the SLFs beam pattern and output in our St. Louis laboratory. Additionally, we manufacture the SLF on-site, to ensure maximum quality and long-term performance.

These bulbs are made up of a quality plastic connector to slide right into the plug, as well as high durability terminals. A load resistor is embedded to prevent blowing the LEDs from voltage surge, and a diode is implanted to protect the LEDs from reverse polarity. The LED is wired for 12V operation, the kind found on all modern vehicles.

ok no worries.

what is the best way to adjust them so they don't aim in people's face? i asked one user and he said to basically max them all the way back and down on the bracket before install .
seems to be in a tight spot so im not sure if they are adjustable while installed in the bumper, 3rd gen.

even throughout all the install vids on YT, they just do the basic install and don't even show the adjusting/aiming part?

waiting for my kit in the mail but wanted to get a broader picture before it goes under the knife. thanks

 

Great question!

You'll be able to adjust and aim the fog light using the screws on the side of the bracket. In general, fog lamps should be angled slightly downwards to illuminate the area directly in front of your vehicle. I've attached the installation guide PDF below to see the screws closer you'll specifically be adjusting.
