That's basically it in a nut shell.
Moreover, they're tired making a trip to the dealer for all kinds of issues as the vehicle they bought begins to fall apart after six months. And then they see a 1st Gen Taco a little dirty and the driver with a happy trouble free look on his face and they say "I want that!".
But once they get it, they begin to miss that soft plush ride on the way to work, mall, and that plush leather having forgotten why they bought it and begin to imagine all sorts of faults and start hearing voices.
    Ah wtf??

if you dislike your truck so bad why did you add another $1774.00 suspension lift to it? if I thought I wasted $40K++ dollars for a Turd like u say I wouldn't be adding more money to an already sunken ship and then do a thorough write up about it https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...112-5160-with-3-leaf-aal-for-1-5-lift.486379/ on the TW fanboy network. sounds a little hypocritical to say these truck sucks then dump more money into it, that would be the last thing anyone that bought a lemon would do.

Lol, yep.. I'll take some additional low end torque. Is it too late for you to suck back things like squeaky clutch, shit needle bearings, driveline vibrations, kazoo door seals etc etc etc though? I really wish your splooge didn't have that crap in it, cause we have enough of our own problems.

Reliable what? They never give details on what went wrong that needed fixing. Even Consumer Reports listed the 2nd Gen as having lots of electrical problems when it was a 5 minute blower motor fix for those with more than a double digit IQ. It made it sound like you pulled the truck out of the bottom of a lake and the electrical didn't work. The authors of these articles have too many new cars thrown at them to make a long term reviews. They never take a load of garbage to the dump. They never go camping. Rarely do they go off-road. They don't drive it in all 4 seasons.

JB Power Initial Quality BS. INITIAL??? What does that have to do with reliability over the long-haul?
Car and Driver used to do a segment on long term reliability. It was defined as 30,000 miles. Even a Fiat will go 30K miles with hardly an issue. Wait until 150K+.

If they really want to know which vehicles are the most reliable, poll the independent mechanics who see all flavors. See which ones come into their shops with major issues. Even that is skewed because independent mechanics don't see as many overly complicated and engineered vehicles that must go the dealer. I bet the dealers don't report truthfully what broke. It's the major issues I care about. A typical stupid car owner will complain that a light bulb burned out and they had to take it to the dealer to replace. They can't do much more then put gas in it. Anything more is a complaint on reliability.

A true test of reliability is resale value 10 years down the road. No one wants to buy something that is repair prone at that age. Those vehicles that have shown to hold together get more money.

    Disagree.

Jeep Wranglers have incredible resale after 10 years.

My point being Smitty why would anyone add more money to a vehicle that they deem to be a Lemon or a Turd? You've made it quite clear that the truck you purchased was a complete disaster and you would rather have a Chevy ZR2, but you added almost $2000 more dollars to the Turd? does not compute man

I would like to hear from someone who has sat in a colorado/canyon and hear their impressions. GMs are usually shit for interiors and build quality.

Wranglers are overpriced and overrated. Poor reliability. Uncomfortable. BUT they are "cool" and that's more important

I have read it and I still don't comprehend why anyone would put more Money in a vehicle for any modifications that you have explained on numerous times is a total P. O Shit. not worth the $40k that u initially paid, again I say I wouldn't add any money for modifications to a vehicle I deemed a Lemon I would take the opposite approach and not add money to it since I will be taking a lose on it as it stands and lose a$4-$5k on a trade/resale.

When I was shopping, I went to the Chevy dealer with the intention of test driving a Colorado. I didn't even make it off the lot because the interior looked horrendous and smelled like Preparation H.

If you don't understand the rationale then I can't help you. As I've said umpteen-million times I'm keeping the truck because trade and resale value are not in my favor, shocks were already leaking at 23k miles, and the Leafs were constantly squeaking. Now welcome to my ignore list.

I test drove a new Colorado Z71. The interior felt weak and plastic was very flexible when you lean on it. Did not feel like it would last. And I did not particularly enjoy driving it. Shift points felt awkward. Just did not like the truck. Just my opinion.
