I did a quick search of the forum, and didn't find threads about this, so hopefully this isn't a repost.

I called a local dealership today to inquire about getting my truck undercoated. The Service Foreman told me that they currently did not offer undercoating services, however he went on to say that Toyota is going to start authorizing an undercoating procedure for early models of the 2nd gen Tacomas.

According to the documents the foreman said he received from Toyota, they may start providing this undercoating as early as January. It also may be covered under warranty depending on the year of the truck. The procedure is supposed to involve subjecting the frame to a mineral bath followed by them applying an undercoat to the inside and outside of the frame.

I'm the type of person who doesn't like to believe things until I see them, so I'm taking what I've heard with a grain of salt (pun not intended). However, I'm curious if anyone else has heard something similar to this from their dealerships?

I haven't heard of it but... if it's true that'd be pretty cool. Hopefully this grain of salt finds it's way to the table...

Though it's not that hard to do yourself I guess, but I'm pretty lazy.
