Are you supposed to be able to connect to TIS? Everytime mine tries, it errors out. I was able to connect to the truck though and read the real time sensors. Couldn't figure out how to change parameters yet on any of the other stuff. I would like to do the door lock when out of Park thingy, but didn't see it listed anywhere. For 45 bucks though, worth it just for the live data logging.

There's no need to connect to TIS unless you need to flash your ECU and that kind of things.

Which you don't want to do with this cable/software anyways.

Comm drop in the middle of a flash is not a good thing.

Somebody is going to do it.... Just wait...

Sir it seems your ECU was trashed due to a corrupted update.... Now you get to buy a new one....

Waiting for the post about how it was the " Stealership" that caused it. :)

Ah yes - I've been through a comm drop during a flash on other vehicles. Not fun, but luckily had the tools to flash back to stock after the corruption.

So far, as much as I can tell, there really isn't anything I can change on an '07 Tacoma. About the only thing I can do with it, is read the sensors. That's really mostly what I wanted it for, so I'm good with that.

He's referring to bleeding the ABS unit.

You can do a normal bleed and brake fluid exchange using traditional methods, but if you replace the master or the ABS unit and need to bleed air through or out of the ABS unit, you need a Techstream connected to put the ABS unit into the proper mode.

It's a little more involved than that and I'm not familiar with the procedure on Toyota.

    Installed on windows 7 64bit

    Download VMware Player
    Install Windows XP
Install Java 6 (Older version of JAVA)
    Install the software
    Works fine

Just need to learn to use the program. I did not see any options for turning off seatbelt warning etc on my 09 tacoma. I can see the TPMS ids, pressure etc,
but do not know how to change it. I can go through utility and register new ids, but did not went through it as I was not sure if this was how.

To change the Seatbelt Chime, connect to your vehicle and then select Customize (left hand side, blue button). I have a pic of the screen in my product review.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
You can't replace the battery without destroying the unit.

That's the battery at the end of the screw driver...

Looks like it depends on what year the truck is and model, (base, trd etc). My Customize section is completely blank nothing to choose in it. I went ahead and selected 2011 as the truck's year model instead of 2009 and under customize I had:

    Warning
    Display
    Units

BUT if I went into any of them there was nothing in them :(

.... and in case anyone is interested, under tpms utility I tried to use the same TPMS id for all wheels but it wouldn't let me. Also tried all zeros (as my spare) and it didn't work either. System needs 4 out 5 tpms ids. I did not see an option to change tire pressure setting either.

Same thing with my '07. Can't change any of the parameters it seems. Logs fine though, and lets me customize the parameters I want to log.

For tire pressure, my truck has the reset button under the steering wheel, so no need to try to set it through the ECM.

Also I'm curious if anyone knows; Can you have two sets of TPMS ids registered?

I ask because on the Data List I have the following:
    (Parameter) Main Tire (Value) 4
    (Parameter) 2nd Tire (Value) 4
    (Parameter) Select Switch (Value) Main

I just received my order from the US site. I got the cable, but no CD with the software.

Am I missing something here, or did the place forget to send it? Am I able to download it from somebody?
