Very nice. The past 5 years isn't an indication of the typical market. But we did get everything back we lost during the downturn. My rate of return this calendar year is 6 percent, and i'm in the most aggressive funds. I would expect more of this than the 22% gains I was seeing 3 years ago.

I paid $19,500 for the first house I bought, small, 1000 sq,ft., but on 1.5 acres with 350 ft frontage on a 12 acre pond. Sold it for $34,500 6 years later...

Geez. Nothing like having 100k plus miles on a vehicle making payments and spending money on repairs.

I bought my '09 in October of 2016 with 135k, it now has 145k and I have made no repairs--there's a lot of 3rd gen owners that wish they got 10k miles with no problems.

A new car does not guarantee trouble-free driving....

I agree. The Tacoma is a little different. It was more of a general automobile statement. I had my 05 Tacoma 13 years. Never a single issue. I expect the new owner to get many more trouble free miles.

Oh yes, a girl at my work financed a Subaru for 84 months and I have seen some loan terms for 96 months

That's the dealers hope that the suckers will still owe a bunch on the loan when it's wearing out.

Then they roll the money they owe on the old car into another 84/96 month loan because the only way they can afford the new car being upside down on the old one. Rinse and repeat
