Looks like you did a lot of work here. I dont need any of this at the moment, but I know there is a lot of good info in there. What would the posibility be of having thumb drives shipped to you and getting the info that way?

Fury, thanks for the info on site information. i will plan on going to the site, pay my money and download what I need if I can find it. Many of the items like transmission work, etc will be out of my range, but others like features, issues with, Entune, and general overall items, will be of great interest.

For example, my GMC p/u. Was low on atf by 2 quarts because of a leak due to garage pulling the pan to clean filters and such. The truck was shifting strange, slipping, and jerking.

Decided to go a highly recommended transmission shop, (local owned, not the chain, as they said my tranny was shot and needed to be rebuilt). He took it for a test drive on a busy shop day, came back, took it inside, was done in 15 min, gave me a bill of $12.35 for two quarts of fluid.

Said that transmission had a tendency to do that.

Maybe the shop docs will help me look for stuff like that.

i know this is an old thread, but to grab everything, its easy, just rip the whole site :) I'LL HEAD THIS OFF AT THE PASS, no its not illegal, its just an automated script to visit every page and make a copy, just the same if you used your subscription to view and save every page. there are some exceptions, so very high security sites that dont work well with scripts, but 90%+ do fine, just takes a while to run and ALOT of hard drive space.my background is computer science/engineering at UL, specialized in security both hardware and software (a paid hacker, legit and working for the good guys to make stuff safer i guess, lol) for many years, if anyone still messing with that site

more info on how the site works would help determine how feasible it is, but the poster who mentioned just printing to pdf's is also a great idea just takes ALOT of manual lablr to do. NO ONE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES should have adobe pdf reader installed, its loaded with adware and bloatware and horrible for system performance use foxit reader or foxit phantom, a really good pdf printer is included.

    cheers,
    disco

With regard to printing and/or downloading information for personal use as allowed under the terms of use agreement: Different sections have different mechanisms, some download pdf files and some you have to print. You have to use the web page's print function to get any electrical diagrams you need. You need a "pdf file" printer driver that supports naming the file that is saved. I used pdfcreator from http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/ , carefully declining all the junk software that the installer will try to trick you into accepting. I use Adobe Reader from the Adobe web site to look at the resulting pdf files, again making sure to decline the installation of google chrome that is riding on its installer. Correct handling of the electrical diagrams required moving from an Windows XP platform to Windows 7.

It is tedious, but judicious use of cut and past in order to get file names, creating a directory structure for the service information that you need in order to maintain your vehicle, will get all of the required service information in just one two day visit to the site that costs $15. Sharing of the information with anyone else is forbidden by the terms of use agreement as per the snippet above.

Would I pay several hundred dollars for a downloadable copy of an HTML tree that includes working links in the repair manual section? Yes, I still would.
