    Damn you!

    And you too!

My wallet hates this place. My garage loves it.

Well that sucks! I just swapped wheels between 4R and Tacoma. The 4R is a 2021 and the menu walks you right through setup. Take a 10 minute drive and reads no problem. Looks like I’m SOL on the Tacoma. That’s an expense I didn’t want to eat

Lots of great info, thanks very much for the continued discussion. I kinda lean toward the tech-stream method since it will do the tpms and much more. Additionally, I pick up a 23 TRD OR and the dealer refused to change several "personal settings" changes Toyota says are changeable for free via tech-stream.
    Again, thanks

Details please on the changes your dealer would not change?

    Toycoma2012,
When I requested the lane change blinks be changed from 3 to 7 and the open door chime be turned off, I as informed the service manage said these changes could not be done. A different dealer made the changes via techstream.

    Lots of additional info here:https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-in-turn-signal-for-lane-change.466605/page-3

See page 3 for the pdf file listing many of the Personalization Changes available for change.
    Cheers

So the first dealer did not have Techstream (which I find preposterous) or just would not do it for you.? My original question was because I am having trouble getting my seatbelt warnings turned off in my 2021 OR via Techstream. Wondered if that was your problem too.

I’m aware of what the Owners Manual says can be changed under Customization. The seatbelt warnings are among those.

The list in the thread you linked above may not be entirely accurate for your 2023 or my 2021.

Actually the original dealer does have techstream. I purchase a new 2018 TRD OR there and they changed any setting authorized. That dealership recently changed hands several months before I purchased the 2023 TRD OR and in my case is very resistant to customer service even though Toyota suggest the feature changes listed are valid and free.
The second dealer is very customer oriented and made the few changes I requested with out question and for free.

Toyota could have allowed owners do many changes via the nav screen settings options, but did not so ya get stuck with visiting the dealership for free changes, if they will do it al all.

I realize the pdf is dated 2016 and I searched for a new version, but could not find one. Even called Toyota Corp in Texas and got no place.

If you study the pdf you will quickly see the very right hand column is for the customer to make choices for each of the specific features.

    Hope this helps a little.

What I was trying to say above was that one can go to their Owners Manual and look up "Customizable Features" in the index and see what is customizable for their vehicle. Gets rid of the ambiguity of just what is available or not to change.

Service ain't what it used to be.
