    Nothing yet, brand new!
The most important job of a tire is to carry the weight of the vehicle, but a tire needs the proper air pressure to do its job. Tire air pressure should be checked every 30 days. Many things affect the air pressure inside a tire. A tire will gain or lose about 1 psi for every 10˚F of ambient temperature. This is most important in the spring and fall when outside temperatures can vary greatly. A tire will also lose about 1 psi every 30 days through normal porosity. Damage and punctures are obvious but less obvious is a loose valve stem core. If the tire is losing pressure and damage or a puncture cannot be found, tighten the valve stem core.
    --Cheers :D
Above is excerpt from a winter tire guide. Applicable to all tires/vehicles.
Note: SET YOUR TARGET TIRE PRESSURE COLD! (that means cold tires, not your feet) The RDK or TPMS system will do the rest afterwards.

100% correct. The PSI in "Air" filled tires definitely fluctuates with the change in outside temperature. That's why the majority of new Tacoma's with the TPMS come with "Nitrogen Gas" filled tires, they hold constant pressure despite outside temperature changes.

NO MODS YET! 20" Enkeis with NT420 performance tires coming soon...inspired by genxer36.
Toyota's TPMS are faulty. Especially when it comes to cold whether. The camrys have the same problems.

I'm going to bring this thread back alive since I've been doing some searching. Today which has been the first actually "cool" day of the season so far and my tire pressure light popped on this morning when I left for work. My truck is an 09' D.C. TRD Sport so my question is, do 09's have a sensor in the spare tire? My guess is that the spare is the issue since I'm driving my truck everyday and the light hasn't came on until now and I'm 99.9% positive I don't have a seeping leak.

O9's deleted the TPMS sensor in the spare. So no, you do not have it.

Ok I got the light all turned off and am good to go now. First off I must say that I don't think the rod that you assemble together to lower the tire is made very well. It seemed to me that it was flimsy and just not sturdy at all. I went ahead and checked the pressure in the spare anyways just for good measure and practice (not that I intend on having to use the spare soon anyways ;) ). I was also wondering, how tight do you all tighten the spare back up when you reinstall it? When I initially cranked mine back up the first time I heard a "click" sound which I'm assuming was where everything was new. I lowered it back down just a little and cranked it back up but didn't get the click sound anymore. Should it have made the "click" sound again?

Will someone go outside and shake their spare tire and see if it has any sort of movement to it?
