This was my solution it was cheap and easy just a different take on the black tape mod, I had to take the dash apart when I wired up the switches for the ARB's so I took a few extra minutes and took the dash cluster apart and used a free sticker to cover up the TPMS light. Not the best picture but you get the idea.

    +1 :D

TPMS sensors are powered by a tiny battery, which puts a limit on their RF output to a couple hundred milliwatts at best; please explain how that signal, which is originating from an "antenna" located a few inches off the ground, can travel as far as a 25,000 watt FM radio station signal being broadcast from the top of a 200 foot tower.

Just get a 3" pvc pipe 2 caps ...make a "pipe bomb"- inflate to 35-40 psi and be done with it...fits under the back seat ...
    I'm happy with mine

Why not just pull the bulb or put a piece of tape over it?

No bulb... it's an LED, and tape on the cluster is tacky.

Takes a little more work but you can still remove the LED. Same stuff the color change dash guys do.

For the first couple of years, that guide works.
'08 or so, the system was changed and instead of grounding, you need to apply a TTL logic "high" (nominal 5v) to the wire.

I haven't done it, but I would use a switched 12v run through a 10k resistor. Others claim to have run 12v directly without problems, but I'd be worried about the long term impact of a non-current-limited 12v supply on the ECU pin.

I'm also in the same boat with the sensors. Switched from the steel standard tacoma wheels to steel spares, and the sensors didn't fit! So now I have the giant idiot light on all the time. It's right in the middle of the instrument cluster on the 3rd gen tacomas. I'm confused on this post because the pictures won't load? I vaguely understand the concept; you're making a Plastic chamber you can compress with air that has a TPMS sensor in it? And buy you only have one instead of four? If you could give me any advice here I would appreciate it! Thanks

All four sensors programmed to the vehicle have to be in the chamber device (pipe bomb, wheelbarrow wheel, etc.).

The spare steel wheels require the 20 degree sensors; the "styled" steel wheels (the ones on the four corners in lieu of alloy wheels) use the 40 degree sensors.

Nice! okay yeah this makes more sense now. I think I'm going to try it out this weekend, I have the factory sensors from my stock wheels still. Seems like the best alternative to that stupid dash light! Thanks!
