I replaced the wheels and tires on my truck months ago, however I never reset the TPMS. During the tire/wheel change the sensors where all swapped around and it had been bugging me that the reading were for the incorrect sides of the truck. I recently reset my TPMS system, and now the damn thing won't come back on, I reset it multiple times now and I still just get the --- reading for every wheel, this is after driving hundreds of miles.

Anyone know what I'm missing here?

Are you sure that they swapped the sensors into the new wheels?

They didn't change out the sensors, the sensors were just reading for the wrong wheels, wrong sides of the truck. For instance my dash would say the front right wheel is low, when it would actually be the front left wheel. Etc.

You said you got new wheels. I'm wondering if they put the sensors into the new wheels.

Oh I see your point. I'm certain they did, everything was working great for months, as I didn't even know that I could reset the system. However a week or two ago I reset it to get the system to start reading the right wheels, and it never cam back on. My sensors were reading fine before I did the reset, oddly enough.

Well when I changed my wheels I got new sensors. Had them programmed at the dealer and they were not reading at all until I hit the reset button then drove the truck over 70 mph on the freeway... magically they started working.

There's something in the manual about it.... need to drive at least 55... I had to get to over 70.... 55 didn't do it for some reason. Not for very long I think I drove like 5 miles or so at highway speed 70+

Did you follow the exact reset procedure in the owner's manual (page 464)?

Try taking it for a ride over 50 MPH for 10 minutes or so after hitting the reset.

Are the rear tires reading correctly or are those readings flipped too?

Yeah what I errr he just said.....

Owners manual page 464... who fucking reads an owners manual, much less one that has over 464 pages?? Who does that?

I use the manual for emergency "repair", like when I need to take a dump and I'm in the wilderness and forgot TP. I think I'll start on page 464 thanks for the tip bro!

I read it. It's the book that tells you how to operate your truck. You'll learn something from it.

This has been done to death. Mine don't work either and I have done the reset multiple times to-the-letter. The yellow tire light is out and NO CORNER readings after the first rotation.

The instructions kind of imply that the tire pressures will show up when you complete step 4 of the reset procedure but then step 5 says that you have to drive for 10 minutes at 25 mph.
    ________________________________________________________________
    ■ How to initialize the tire pressure warning system
    1. Vehicles without a smart key system: Park the vehicle in a safe place and turn the engine switch to the “LOCK” position. Vehicles with a smart key system: Park the vehicle in a safe place and turn the engine switch off. Initialization cannot be performed while the vehicle is moving.

    2. Adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified cold tire inflation pressure level. (P. 577) Make sure to adjust the tire pressure to the specified cold tire inflation pressure level. The tire pressure warning system will operate based on this pressure level.

    3. Vehicles without a smart key system: Turn the engine switch to the “ON” position. Vehicles with a smart key system: Turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode.

    4. Press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the tire pressure warning light blinks slowly 3 times. Vehicles with a multi-information display: “- -” will be displayed for inflation pressure of each tire on the multi-information display while the tire pressure warning system determines the position of each tire. When position of each tire is determined, the inflation pressure of each tire will be displayed on the multi-information display.

    5. Vehicles with a multi-information display Drive the vehicle at approximately 25 mph (40 km/h) or more for approximately 10 minutes. When initialization is complete, the inflation pressure of each tire will be displayed on the multi-information display. Initialization will take longer than approximately 10 minutes if the vehicle is stopped for a long time, such as at traffic signals.

I know I have successfully done the rotation and reset on my TRD with the original wheels and tires. I've also installed winter wheels and tires with new sensors and got them working properly though I have not rotated them yet.

Wish I had your luck with this TPMS. Good job.
    Mine will not reset.

I would start by finding someone with a TPMS trigger tool and have them check all of your sensors to make sure they are working.

I brought my winter rims with brand new OEM sensors already installed to the tire shop to have winter tires mounted. Turns out they broke 2 of the sensors, replaced them with aftermarket sensors and didn't bother to tell me. I ended up buying my own trigger tool (rather than spending the same $ going to the dealer) and spent quite a bit of time with it before I figured out what the problem was. The tire shop did readily agree to buy 2 OEM sensors from the local dealer when I confronted them. I checked all four sensors with my trigger tool before I left the shop.

No BRO-ness to speak of... Well, except Kbro2's
I have reset mine numerous times using the procedure listed in the manual. Mine have always come back online... eventually. There is zero rhyme or reason as to when though... I've had them come back on after a ten min ride at 25+ just as the manual states, and I've them come back on 4 days later. Definitely seems to be a glitch on the reset procedure... At least on mine. Hell, sometimes while i am driving i toggle the display to Tire Pressure just to check them and they are reading --- and then a minute later they come on. Not to mention the fact that they read 3 PSI higher than every gauge i compare them too!

I followed it word for word. Nothing works.

Not sure exactly which sensor is where but they are flipped yes.

I can tell you that the TPMS not reading has nothing to do with how the tire shop switched wheels and tires. I know they put the sensors back in, because everything was working great up until I decided to reset the system myself. I've followed the damn manual word for word, and reset the system repeatedly, driven slow at 25mph and over 70 mph, nothing. works. Really, really, frustrating that it won't come back on. If I find out what I'm doing wrong, I'll be sure and post back. Thanks everyone
