I'm having the same issue as the OP. New tires mounted (edit: on stock wheels with stock TPMS sensors). TPMS sensors worked on the drive home--reading tire pressure at all four corners. I got home, and reset the pressure. I could tell that the sensors were not in the right positions, so I did the manual reset. I can not get them to synch. I've driven fast, slow, reset them multiple times. Still I get "---" for my pressures. I have successfully reset them before when I rotated my tires. I can't figure out what is going on now.

    Any ideas?

I wrote the sensor I.D. numbers on the back of each wheel with a Sharpie so I would know which I.D. went with which wheel.

    A few....
If the wheel moves location--or is rotated, it will throw off the TPMS system, and it has to be cleared and serviced at the dealer. I have not been able to find the correct tool or a shop that has the Toyota programmer for the TPMS system. Would love to disable it....

Yep. The manual says after the reset and the drive above 25mph, the system is supposed to recognize the new positions of the sensors. Mine has never worked after the first rotation.

Has anyone who is having a problem with the reset tried disconnecting the battery cable for a while? I know this is commonly recommended when electronics are acting weird.

Nope. Stock. Dealer got it working once. No luck after a rotation. Not paying them to do it again.

Interesting thing I noted today. I aired down my tires today when off roading. The yellow tire symbol came on recognizing low pressure, so my system is working to the extent that it is reading pressures. It still won't display actual tire pressures on the four corners.

That's good to know. I still haven't been able to get mine back up, and I just had my tires rotated at the dealer! Next time I go in, I'm going to ask them to make sure it comes back on.

If anyone can come up with a fix I'm all ears...

Bump. Cant get mine to reset. Light stays solid nor does it start blinking when in the initiation on position and I am holding down the reset button. May pull battery cable and retry after that.

Transmitter damaged during tire removal; didn't drop it into the tire before putting it on the machine?
Transmitter damaged during tire mounting; wasn't clocked right when put on the machine?
    Transmitter installed upside down?
    Dead transmitter battery?

did you try turning it off and back on again.
I hate when they ask that whenver you call support for something lol.

for OP, try doing the reset right before getting on the highway then do about 70mph for a bit, see if then it works. I had the same problem when the dealer programmed my new sensors. Took about a 15 min drive at 120km/h to get them to wake up.

Update to my issue: I had a sensor that was broken off when I had new tires installed. I discovered it when I had the wheels off, and I could hear some rattling from the inside of one of the tires. A new TPMS sensor installed and reprogrammed solved my problem.

Really? I wonder if that's my problem. I wonder why all of your pressures read on the way home if they broke a tpms? Before I did my reset I would check my tire pressures daily, and they all fluctuated with the temperatures, so I feel like all of mine work, but obviously I can't be certain.

So, I do have after market wheels. They have worked fine for over a year. Today on the high all of a sudden none of my tpms are reading. Any suggestions

    a little something
Same issue as the OP. I have aftermarket wheels. I put a 5th sensor in the spare as I rotated in occasionally. Dealer said that they think the computer is freaking out because it can't read 5 sensors. I call bullshit but I'm gonna go get it out prior to the end of my warranty.

The truck's computer only knows about and cares about the four sensor I.D.'s that were programmed into it.

I bought my truck a little more than a month ago, and my TPMS has never worked. Took it to the dealership this morning, they looked at it and told me it was still learning the position of the tires and I'd have to drive it 25 miles before it started working; I had already put 1300 miles on it, but drove around town a while to hit the 25 miles I was advised to drive... still nothing.
