Did a tire rotation and ever since the TPMS light has been flashing on startup. I scanned the sensors with the Autel MaxiTPMS TS501, 3 of the tires scan immediately and one won't (tried moving the tool around, etc.). I guess the sensor is dead and there's nothing else to try but replacing it?

Truck is only 3 years old (2022 OR), so seems weird the sensor would be dead already?

    Yeah.
Did you reset the TPMS using the button under the steering wheel?

Yup, did this after I rotated the tires. Now the tire pressure light immediately starts flashing then goes solid, hitting the reset button doesn't seem to do anything (light stays solid).

He scanned the 4 sensors and one didn't scan; bad battery possibly. The TPMS button works when all 4 sensors are good and allows the truck to recheck the positions and pressures of all 4 working sensors.

    Yeah.
How cold is it there? Our 2015 Corolla did this (flash, then solid) on a really cold day, but it turned back off. Those are nearly 10 years old, though, so one of the batteries is probably getting too weak. Sounds like one just has a dead battery.

Not especially cold (probably 40s or 50s during the day), and it's been happening consistently. I feel like the rotation has something to do with it, TPMS was working fine before it. Guess I gotta replace the sensor.

Wouldn’t it still be covered by warranty?

It has ~66k miles, so I think out of warranty

One bad sensor means none of them will report.

Took it to Les Schwab. They said all the sensors were fine and reprogrammed them for $25. Now the pressure light is off, but pressures still show "---" after driving for 30min (stop and go traffic, so not actually that much distance). I'm pretty sure the light will come back on at some point.

I guess they must have some other scan tool that can read the sensors? My Autel tool instantly reads 3 of them, can't read the 4th no matter what I do, so one of them is clearly broken or different.
