    Looking for some trac bars to help with the axel wrap on my Tacoma. 6" lift and 35's are causing some vibes while accelerating from a stop. Any links would be appriciated.

    Just replace the leaf pack and sell your old one. Go with the allpro's or alcan's.

    When i had my 6" lift, i replaced the block and add-a-leaf with the all-pro expos, made the ride 32x better than what it was!

    Those are an option, but:

    - I've never been impressed with Pro-Comp's "quality".
    - How do they mount? If it's a bolt on kit, again, color me unimpressed. If you need to do fab work, then you're back at the welder.

    New leaf packs do little to nothing to completely stop axle wrap without making the ride significantly harsher. They can diminish its severity though.

    Axle wrap in these trucks is definitely a problem, especially off-road.

    His axle wrap is caused buy running a 4" block. By replacing the leaf pack he will notice a major improvment and by going with the right one with not notice sigificant harshness. Knows from experience

    You could've just quoted me:

    It's pretty basic physics. Rotational torque of the axle housing can only be eliminated by bracing it with a rigid member opposing that torque.

    Leaf springs cannot be a rigid member and still flex to provide suspension travel. The stiffer the spring, and the closer the direct mount to the axle, the better it will control wrap. That said, complete elimination of wrap will not be garnered unless the rate is stiff enough to oppose wheel torque entirely (which leads to a terrible ride).

    Improvement? Yes. Elimination? No.

    Only true fix for wrap on these trucks is a traction bar. Whether or not the wrap is bad enough/worrisome enough that someone wants to go that route is their call. These trucks are designed from factory with the understanding some axle wrap will occur, and during on road use it really won't hurt anything as long as your leaf packs aren't completely dead.

    You have a 1st gen. The concerns are a little different. FWIW I wouldn't install those pro-comp bars either. The design is terrible for offroad use.

    2gens produce enough power and with large enough tires and a heavy enough truck to break parts offroad from wrap. Blame Toyota for not upgrading the size of the drivetrain along with the rest of the truck and the increased engine power. And continuing to build trucks with piss-poor leaf springs, which doesn't help.

    Usage also varies. Some people beat on their trucks harder than others.

    6" kits are strange animals in the clearance category. The drop bracket gives them less running clearance than 3" lifts, but better approach/departure/breakover angles, assuming equal tire size.

    Those monstrosities hanging off his undercarriage eliminate his breakover improvements by filling in exactly the space created by the lift.

    Sure they'd help on road use. But if you're staying on road, you shoulda bought a car :stirthepot:

    That pro comp traction bar is :puke:

    I'd still stick with the ruffstuff one. You can make it so it follows the exact angle of your driveshaft so it doesn't get hung up. I've seen it on a 2nd gen I wheel with.

    Is another option. I don't like it because it leverages on the studs that the 3rd member mounts to. I'd be worried it'd tweak 'em and result in a nasty diff leak at best, differential failure at worst.

    I'd run it before I ran the Pro Comp stuff though.

    I avoid settling for subpar work.
