Coldest intersection in Canada, right? And where Dale Hawerchuk (RIP) was introduced to the city. I’m 2 hours to the east in lake country.

Yeah, historic AF. Pretty cold too. Don’t let the flags fool you. Wind comes from every direction.

Got the two blades out of the truck. That’s as far as I’ve got.

We are getting slammed with cold here in NW AR. It was -7F this AM. Last night I got home and cleaned my chimney in 0F temps and hauled wood with the 3240. Got my woodstove fired up. We got 4-5" of snow and are expected to get up to 7" more thru Wed.

ETA: We are dogsitting for the wife's co-worker. She doesn't know what kind of dog it is but I think maybe a Cairn Terrier. Name is Ginger and she's a good dog. Learned how to use the dog door and takes herself outside all the time. The deer-head chihuahua is mine, RubiRose.

    Git sum!

I worked smarter today. Loaded the pallet and set it on the porch. Should be set for a few days and this spell is supposed to break Saturday. Burning heavy till then. My lil Napoleon 16" EPA rated stove has my 1800sf house sitting pretty at 76F with it 19F outside.

So there are a lot of members in this thread that haul pretty heavy. Been looking at Midsota ST trailers. Any of you have experience with these? All the reviews are 5 stars for quality.

    Something like this:

I’ve never seen one of those, as low as it is, does it use torsion suspension? There’s no room for springs o_O

    Yes. 8K oil bath axles.

If I do get this one I will have them derate it from 18900 to 14500 lbs. It’s in IA.

What’s your Duramax GVW rated at? I think mine is 9,600 which is nice, our gooseneck is rated 14,000. I have 24,000 lbs on my tags and it’s almost $500 a year.

11500. That’s why I would like to have it de-rated to 14500 to stay under the 26k. I’m not in commerce ever:anonymous:, but I have been known to get pulled into a DOT checkpoint every now and again.

The truck or trailer tags? Interesting how different states register vehicles.

Another cheaper option is to buy something like this:

    2F791477-BF39-4C98-939F-C17C0443EFCA.jpg 30068CF2-3277-47DF-95F4-7090071266E6.jpg

This option is about 3000.00 cheaper. 24’, 102” with drive over fenders, 7k axles, monster ramps are all required.

I meant the truck, we have to have enough weight on our tags to cover the truck and trailer GVWR, even if we never get near that total weight.

The PJ’s are really popular around here with the farm crowd fwiw.

All this talk reminds me that I need to go get my non-CDL class A. Headed to CA in May and I’ve always heard they have no hesitation to cite you if you’re pulling a bigger trailer and your home state requires a non CDL-A like CA does.

Depends on what your towing. Motor coach?

How does the finish hold up to the salt and road debris?

    Interesting.

My 20’ Load trail is registered in Montana, so that’s a one time fee of 25.00. Here in Colorado it would be 125.00 per year.

My GMC this year was 400.00. First year was 1600.00. The registration cascades down each year as value decreases, the fourth year being the biggest drop of 4%
