hey folks, yesterday I traded my 2012 sr5 4x4 short bed with just under 20k miles on a new 2015 Trd sport 4x4 with a long bed. Old truck was mint condition but I wanted the long bed for the room. Dealership allowed me $26k on the trade, the new truck is loaded up and was just over $34k . Just wondering if you think I got enough out of my trade? I just woke up with a pit in my stomach and was hoping you could put me at ease thanks

Picture of new truck, I had them pull tires and skid plates off my old truck and put them on the new truck since I just bought them

Sorry I can't really comment on your trade in value. I'm curious to know, do you notice any difference in ride quality between the two trucks? the SR5 and TRD trims come with different shocks as well as different rims/tires, but since you swapped over your wheels you're pretty uniquely qualified to comment on the differences in the suspension. Have you noticed much difference?

New truck does ride a little firmer than the old truck, I assume it's from the better shocks. It does ride great though

This. Just enjoy what you have. In the end the deal is done and as long as you are happy with what you paid then so be it. Someone is probably going to chime in and say you could have gotten X for it or should have sold it to a private party for more. It's a nice ride so go out and enjoy it.

    Congrats.... Nice looker.

Funny, I looked at the pic and thought "That looks like DownEast Toyota." Then I thought, "Nah, they probably all look alike." Then I saw you were from Brewer! I live in BOrono.

Everyone loves to look things up online and say what they are worth. The actual value of anything is "the amount of money someone is willing to pay you on the day you want to bid rid of said item"
We have 7% sales tax in my area of Ohio. I assume you were only charged sales tax on the difference between the two trucks. This would be like getting an extra $1800 added to the price of your old truck. Remember too there is no "sell it now" button in KBB or NADA.
    CONGRATS ON THE NEW RIDE!!!!!

Sounds like an excellent deal to me. That's very low mileage, but 80%+ resale value is hard to ignore. Of course they play games with what they're "giving you" for the trade, so they can charge more for the new one. But in any case, you got a brand new truck for $8K net. If you need/want the long bed and other features, that's not too much to pay for the upgrade.
