Picking up a Relentless Modular Bed Rack this afternoon. Seems like a great option for me as a very large CVT RTT is going to be attached to it.

:notsure: dunno. Like I said, I'd have prefered that too. Just meant that as a piece of mind solution on his end, because that's easy enough to strip off, unlike the nightmare powder coat job I had.

But yes, bottom line is we are on the same page. Again, I do like the rack though.

For you guys in the south west, does the sun end up destroying the (fiberglass or wood) tools that you have mounted to these racks?

It seems that red is is most effected, and I see a lot of the shovels are red.

What are the signs of bad powder coating?

All of my tools seem to be holding up well to any sun. But they aren't fiberglass or wood. If the shovel has any kind of coating don't anticipate it holding up if you use it. The leading edge will be exposed after the first use.

@m603holden If OP doesn't end up taking your KB Vodoo, I might be interested depending on the price. Feel free to PM me.

I like the modularity of the rack and it seems kb has some of the best add ons. Just seems there are some recurring issues with their racks. I'd get the most peace of mind in this situation by allowing a non finished option for less and finding a better coater and charging a bit more for that. Let people choose.

    Can always buy used ;)

Haha. But seriously I knew the Rust-Oleum would hold up better and it has. Plus I used crack magnet gray so it looks great on my truck haha

I'd only do it if we could tw express it. I'm friends with a bunch of people on here so it wouldn't be an issue. Pm tomorrow and we can talk if you'd like. Bedtime for me. 3rd shift life and it's way past my bedtime

I’m more interested in the relentless, I appreciate his offer and good luck/enjoy your new rack if you end up buying it.

I was looking at that or the explorer version. Any complaints or wish ya went with the explorer version? Do ya wish you had gotten the “raised” relentless bed rack instead of the low pro?

Bruteforce, BAMF, Relentless, All bed cages are sold or can be modified to fit all that. They all have an 'options' when you purchase the racks. If it''s not an option, they're all great companies and I'm sure they can customize to an extent for the right $$.

I got this because it was the cheapest available. It is pretty tight for 2 people so I'd get larger if I were to do it again. I like the bed bars because they keep everything below the roof of the truck. As far as mounting equipment goes you have to get creative.

Not saying yours is any less stout. I'm just touting the fact that tying into the bed mounts will help mitigate force to the bedsides. Unfortunately Toyota made our bedsides super weak in order to have a weight savings over a full metal box. Good for gas mileage, not so much for longevity under load. Wonder if anyone's been designing anything to strengthen the entire thing... Food for thought.
