What's up everyone new to this forum and also new to the truck world. Recently purchased a 2017 Tacoma 4x4 Off-road. Now, I'm ready to test this baby out. Does anyone know easy trails or trails we're I'll be ok for now stock?

In the near future will be installing sliders and many upgrades to keep up with a lot of you.

    Welcome @Batman!

First off, I'd like to advise you to poke around the NorCal section before jumping into a new thread asking questions that may have been answered somewhere else. In your case, your question has been answered many other times.

But in answer to your question, there are many trails for your stock taco. In fact, ill be heading up camping after work on Friday and the trail in might be exactly what you're looking for.

Many people are reluctant to put trails so openly on the internet to try to keep the crowds out. Know what I mean?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new rig. A quick search for OHV trails in CA on google will be useful and typically one you find a trail that looks good to you there is a good amount of beta about the trail.

You mean that trail that took part of the bumper off my 3rd gen when I went with you? Don't worry, I'm sure OP will be fine. ;)

Was it the trail just leading to camp? Or were you doing a different trail (like signal peak?) Did you have someone spotting you? Did you listen to your spotter?

Unfortunately I don't believe I've been out wheeling with you @theed

You're right, I wasn't on that trip with you. (I've always sucked with remembering names, must be the same part of my brain that's confused.)

Anyway, it was one of those downhills going to camp that got me. Just a big enough hole and lax enough line to get the plastic back corner. Didn't even realize that I did it til I got to camp. 90% fixed with zip ties.

Driveline Hill was fine by comparison. AIUI, Signal Peak is, uh, inadvisable, for anything close to stock.

There are a few of us that go out on a some what regular basis, most of us from the Sacramento area. My buddy comes with a stock 3rd gen all the time.

There are a lot of good trails in the Forest roads / routes / lakes / camping / off roading thread.

Here are a couple that we have ran recently that are all stock truck able.

Yeah I got his book on Arizona off-road, which is why I got the Cali one! I've only used one so far, but the notes were excellent.

I spent quite a bit of time trying to find a perfect online / gps solution, but the book has been better for me so far.

I usually use the book to find good trails and the notes then my garmin to help. I'm excited to see the book. Just moved here and don't know shiz (outside of help here).

It shouldn't be. I'll double check.
