How can we check if Silverado canyon will be open this saturday?

i think its like 70 miles from orange county. about an hour an a half to get there. But its a ton of fun!

 

yeah 70 or 80 miles. give or take a few.. i havent been there in a few years so i dont really know the area to well. good time though.

 

if there was a trip to lucerne, i would be down!

i was hoping for something more low key as i hate being a passenger, but i will check my calendar...

 

How would this trail fair on my 2wd stock suspension? Because I would like to go on my first trail!

 

silverado canyon is managed by cleveland nat'l forest. i called the trabuco ranger station 951-736-1811 and they informed me it will remained closed till the weekend but may not reopen depending on the weather. if it rains or a chance of rain they will not open the gates. there's a chance of rain on saturday in the OC so that is something to consider. maybe for those who want to go elsewhere can plan on doing so in case they dont open the gates. for those who cant go elsewhere maybe you can try your luck saturday morning. just a suggestion.

 

shouldnt be to much of a problem. there r a few main roads that pass through. and Slash x is right off hwy 40.

if there is a chance of rain and the closure of the area, it would be better to decide on plan B now and just commit to the alternative...

it's a waste of time to drive to Silverado Canyon and then re-route elsewhere when you could have gone elsewhere to begin with...

 

Its your run though Reggie.. What do you want to do? im down for anything. just have to keep in mind that if the Canyon is closed, it has to be early enough for us still to get out the 15fwy to have some fun due to it getting dark earlier.

 

Mikes right. if there is a chance of rain, we should think of heading out somewhere else..
