Trail Run - Silverado Canyon 12/4/10

lights won't help mileage, gas, and time out though...

 

im down for night runs, but its an eye opener for people who havent done them before...

 

x2... most of the So Cal TW peeps don't even wheel the desert during the day, let alone at night, and no, cruising dirt roads ain't the kinda wheeling we talkin about...

 

Its kinda ironic cause me and reggie were going to do this trail a few weeks ago, but we didnt go because it was pouring rain. Looks like it might be canceled 2x's. I dont care where we go, as long as I can get my taco dirty.

 

good point mike. but for those of you who dont want to make the drive out to lucerne Holy Jim Creek Trail is always another option. It is a little rocky but for those of you who like to crawl there are a lot of side trails that i havetaken my prerunner on that are a lot of fun. Its also pretty wet there and there are a lot of fun puddles and stuff to hit. i go almost every week. heres some pics and vids of holy jim...

 

besides, if anybody's truck breaks, it will suck major ass to be stuck out there wrenching on the truck in 40 or below degree weather in the dark...

where ya been Tyler? haven't seen much about your truck... did you decide not to build it up?

 

I have still been around here and there haha. I am still workin on buildin up the truck but school is an even bigger money pit than my truck haha.

 

if we did that, i would have no idea where to go. I'd have to meet someone on the main roads somewhere.

 

For those of you wanting to go to Holy Jim we could meet at Cooks Corner.

I think we should take a vote on who wants to go to Lucerne or Holy Jim I've never been to any of those trails but I'm open to either one.

lets put PLAN B into action now while its still early in the week.

 

Correct me if im wrong, but if we go to Lucerne Valley, we would be playing in the desert (woops, jumps, screwing around) rather then a trail. At least when I go to lucerne, thats what we do.

Im up for anything really cause they both would be fun.

 

Some fellow TW'ers got kicked out a while back at Holy Jim. One even got a ticket I believe. I've never been. I think it's legal you just can't screw around because supposedly the houses close by like to call the po-pos.

Just something to keep in mind.

 

Alright I think Lucerne is out for me only because I wasn't planning on driving out that far this weekend plus theres a trail run the following weekend up at Hungry Valley that I want to go to. Holy Jim for me.

Where is Holy Jim? also do they get closed out for weather im still down for something this weekend. Plus Jingle Jam is coming up this month in Barstow. but we kind of need to make it final by tommorow. Count me in anywhere..

 

For Lucerne whats a good time to head out in the morning?

 

How do we get to Cooks Corner?

 

I prefer Lucerne since there's something for everyone. I'd recommend meeting off the 15 fwy at Sierra at 8am and caravaning to Lucerne.
