It really sucks that this is the only trim that offers the 6 foot bed and I-Force Max engine. I have called dozens of dealerships and 5k is the standard, with some greedy-ass dealers doing 10k above.

1300 a month for 72 month+ insurance + maintenance+ gas… probably close to 2k a month for the average sucker not paying cash for a bottom of the barrel truck

Planning...suspension, front slimline bumper, winch, full skids, 2" lift, SCS Ray 10's, Pizza cutters, Power Tray, Switch-Pro, Alu-Cab Contour Canopy.
Wait a couple of months until the hype settles down. Just like the OR, they will start offering discounts in a few months when the dust settles. It is just brand new right now and there are a few fools willing to pay the premium just to be first.

Around December... that truck will go for about 3-4k under MSRP. I would wait for possible invoice or below invoice price. probably around 58-62k and a better interest rate.

Personally, I am waiting for the Toyota Tacoma TRD Mega-Superior TrailHunter Pro Platinum trim because I want to pay $100k for a mid-size truck with a 4 cyl motor.

You get some hideous gold wheels that you will have to pay $$$ to swap out. Will that work for you?

Why in all the pictures I've seen online, does it look like the bed is only 5ft and not 6ft?

This doesn't look 6ft to me...

You can configure it to be 5ft or 6ft.

Gotcha, I assume most of the pictures actually are only 5ft beds then...

Yeah, and its a huge gotcha from Toyota too because if you are like me, and you want the I-Force Max AND a 6 foot bed, this is your only option. You are essential stuck paying for a bunch of crap you don't need (ugly wheels, ugly bed rack, compressor) and on top of that our lovely local dealers will charge you 5K for the privilege.

Also, I strongly suspect that the increased payload of the Trailhunter is just marketing BS. Sure, the suspension will be "tuned" for more weight, but the hybrid system and all the armor will probably add another half ton. It will still have the same axle, the same frame, the same bearings, which will end up being the limiting factor. At least Toyota threw us a bone this gen and gave us some rear disc brakes. :jerkoff:

Same here in Canada. Only Hybrid with a 6ft bed is the Trailhunter. With taxes and all the other fees, almost $100,000CAD!
