this may be a dumb Q

anyways i have a bottle of 75-90w gear oil and a bottle of 80-90w can i mix them and put them in the tranny?

i know that 75-90w protects in lower temp so thats why i want to use half 75-90 half 80-90w

basically im taking out the 75-90w( i put it in tranny in november 2010) and i want to add an additive to smooth shifting. and thats the gear oil i have( one opened lasted nov and the 80-90w is unopened)

    sorry for dump Q

    and thanks

are the brands the same?some brands of oil recommend that you do not mix with other brands or different weights.
