Hey there guys. I was wondering if my 2wd prerunner has a LSD. I have read a few threads saying certain years and up have them. But im assuming because I dont have any locking controls, and its 2wd, that I dont.

I dont have any history of service done on this vehicle.

its 75w-90 for the trans fluid , what is the capacity for 5 speed? 2.4?
and what is the weight for the diff?

I might be wrong here, but I believe only the TRD Sport had a LSD. The TRD Off-Road had a locker. But the non TRD models had an open diff. And the TRD never came with the 4 Cylinder.
If yours has one, it is probably aftermarket. You can see if it does by jacking up the rear and spinning the tires. Have a friend hold the opposite wheel and if it can spin in the opposite direction, its an open diff. If it doesn't then you have a LSD. You'll need your transmission in neutral.

Changed them out. I had a hell of a time getting the trans fill bolt out. It came pre rounded by the previous owner! What a nice guy.. It also didnt crack open after marinating in penetrating fluid overnight, which sucked. I tried again, didnt work. Tried heating it with torch. no dice. Tried chiseling it out, Noope. Had to finally go and call a mobile welder to weld a nut to it.. Finally was able to break it loose. Jesus christ.. Pumped 2qts back into it, Which 2.2-2.5 came out. Idk which for sure, because oil pan I had to catch fluid had some liquid in it also. But anyways. Bought new fill plug, and crush washer, which also, previous owner neglected to put it back on. Which thankfully didnt make a difference prior. *no leaks* And the drain also didnt have one. I just figured if it was fine before, Id do the same with the drain. I put a bit of silicone on both of them just for good measure. No leaks. Runs fine.

Also - used walmart full syn 75w-90 in both trans and diff. For u guys saying to buy expensive shit $20 a quart. Idk why. Drives fine. If not better then before.
