Does anyone know how I can get one of these transmission coolant line connection parts?

I don't see it on any parts diagrams. I'm at a loss for what to call it or how to get one.

The threads are damaged on this one and it cannot be used.

All else fails take it to your local “auto recycling” yard. See what’s in the yard. Prepare to get dirty.

Transmission cooler union; there are 2 of them IIRC

    Trying to find part numbers...

There is a 996 listed on page 14.7 - that is the 2nd "short one" that is toward the transmission rear.

I was going to refer you to that part, but it looked bigger than what you listed.

It is a coolant line union though.

Is there really no way to salvage that part? If not, find out the thread/pitch and put a different kind on that'll fit. Going that far in, you may as well install an external transmission cooler...but wanting to do that for awhile now.

Will a 4Runner 1999/2000 use the same parts? There are a couple in the salvage yard.

Same transmission, different torque convertor, don't see why not.

There are two Tacomas in the yard too. But those are 4 cylinders - 5 lugs.

I actually ran into an issue with this part number when I was trying to find a spot to tap into for a temperature sensor.
90407-16009 is labeled as the outlet union (the long one you have pictured), but that is actually the part number for the inlet
90407-16012 is labeled as the inlet union, but is is the long one (outlet)
    https://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_200009_TOYOTA_TACOMA_RZN161L-TRPDKAB_3514.html?hl=32921C

You can see all of the vehicles that use that part here:
    https://www.toyodiy.com/parts/xref?s=90407-16012&mU=on

Once you figure out how to use toyodiy.com, it's amazing.

    O-ring part number is 90301-11006

I start talking about this here in my build thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tiffany-the-taco.374490/page-8#post-15809328
You can scroll down to read it all if you'd like.

You can see the shiny silver part at the top of this pic. That part is 90407-16009. It is obviously not the long union. Please ignore the black part.

    So you want 90407-16012

Thank you. I'm getting hits that 90407-16012 is for a 2000-2004.

One is inlet, one is outlet on the A340E and A340F transmission (and probably others). Year doesn't really matter.
