    Yep, if it was warming the trans through the radiator, that wouldn't happen until the thermostat opened. The coolant lines running to the trans T-stat heat the oil to reduce frictional losses and increase mpg at the expense of fluid / trans life.

    I bypass the Engine Radiator because If and when it fails you will end up with with coolant in your trans and that's not good it happened to me in my 1986 4Runner so now I just bypass it with a trans cooler
    the temps on this trans do get high I have a 17 with tow package and it still gets hotter than I Like it to so I added a bigger trans cooler
