Anynody know if there are any transmission upgrades (programming )for the 17 Tacoma 6 speed auto from Toyota?

I only have 12 grand on the truck and ever since it was new, the tranny shifts awkwardly. I took it when they had the recall on the rear end leaking and they said everything was fine. Ive asked toyota and they insist they can't reboot the computer if there aren't any codes?

Shift Sense Pro or a tune from Orange Virus are about the only things you can do to make that better.

Im assuming these are aftermarket solutions? Ive talked to a couple of Drive Line shops and they have seen this issue with the 3rd gen Tacos. Love the truck, just wanna make sure the tranny is good to go before it goes off road. . Thx

There are a few TSBs to reflash the tranny, but its pretty terrible. The OVtune seems to help guys out but its $600-800+ and then it sounds like your MPG tanks worse than a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500.
