No, u have an auto tcase. U would need the manual tcase. If u could get ur hands on a planetary input section of a manual tcase, u could put that on the auto tcase. Problem is u would just be better off getting a whole manual tcase.

Go search around on rocksolidtoys.com and I will see what I'm talking about. Basically search for fj tcase going into 6spd tacoma

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
How have I not seen this excellent post?

So if I adjust my clutch the sound possibly will go away? because wouldn't I have to adjust my clutch so my push rod is slightly engaged at all times?

This fixes the sound that goes away with very slight pressure on clutch pedal. The push rod is slightly applying pressure, that's what a preload is.

First, just about every other manufacturer preloads their clutches.

Second, a clutch has a clamping force that determines the amount of torque it can handle. Short of mechanical failure, every clutch will eventually slip at some high torque value. The preload tries to limit the reduction in clamping force by a few percent so the clutch doesn't slip and wear. I haven't seen any posts that Tacomas have clutch wear (slip) problems other that abusive driving.

Third, the new Toyota kits seem to have a heavier spring and that may be to solve this problem.

Because 1 person agreed with you , you believe you have the fix for the Toyota release bearing issue , yet you still dont know how a diaphragm style clutch functions .Please stay off/ out of this post .

I'm still here, my clutch still works and the people who have listened to me now have clutches that work. This is a public forum and I can post if I like. Let's hear your BS this time.

Lastly 4,705 people have looked at my original post, and many more in subsequent posts, and only a few know-it-all's like you have ever had a problem.

First off . I am not a Know it all . I accept the fact that repairing vehicles for a living is constant schooling .
You jumped into my post preaching your gospel that the bearing does in fact spin and I completely disagree .
I am glad you found a work around to make the bearing spin all the time . Is this a fix ...absolutely not .
We both know Toyota is tight lipped regarding free play adjustments and release bearing adjustments much like GM and Ford .
We also know the adjustment procedure for the release bearing in our Toyota trucks is missing tolerances needed to make the necessary adjustments correctly. A factory flaw that can be modded with a simple adjustment rod just like the GM guys do with the same transmission in the Camero .
As the clutch disc wears down , pressure plate loading increases moving the diaphragm fingers closer to the release bearing . The release bearing begins to turn when this occurs .
Shock loading the bearing has occurred for over 80 years . Preloading the bearing is the manufacturers way of cooking the clutch prematurely . Its rather noticeable on the 6 speed with the aluminum quill
Do I care if your bearing is preloaded ? not really . What i do care about is the missing adjustments needed to make the bearing stop turning . Toyota didnt leave much room for adjustment .

BS ? seriously ? I think you just learned how a diaphragm clutch worked last year when I instructed you how they function and You've been working on vehicles all your life ?

Here we go again. For everyone who actually wants to know, at 14:27 on this video of installing a new clutch and TOB you can SEE the TOB bearing turning when the clutch is up

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJBXW65Q2FU

"you just learned how a diaphragm clutch worked last year", but I fixed my clutch and posted in 2013. You're just making yourself look silly.

Long answers are not right answers. Right answers are usually short and simple.

He's now posted don't do this on other posts I've participated in. No reasoning; just don't do it.

This has become trying to reason with a barking dog so I'm going to go drive my truck now. I think the objective reader has enough information to make up their minds and for the others who were reading this for entertainment, sorry I'm done winding him up, he's not not smart enough to be a worthy adversary.

I'll add some info in regards to the part numbers in the TSB for the master and slave cylinders. I recently replaced them and the parts are different from OEM.

Left: TSB made by Aisin. Right: OEM made by LUK. The Aisin unit has a longer pushrod and clevis allowing for more adjustment and a metal clevis. I've seen a couple of posts where the plastic clevis of the LUK unit has snapped.
    20160704_103428.jpg

Left: OEM slave cylinder (don't mind my fancy red paint). Right: TSB slave cylinder. The TSB unit has a longer pushrod and/or spring.
    20160703_125205.jpg

I was able to apply some grease to the snout a few weeks ago by locking the clutch pedal in the depressed position. This made a very noticeable, improved difference.
When I replace my clutch and TOB in the near future,I will complete the TSB with the pivot ball and arm.

Now I am a barking dog lol and a know it all . Strange how the name calling continues
Had Toyota engineers incorporated enough room to keep the release bearing clear from the rotating pressure plate fingers like they did in the early 2000,s , there would never be an argument/ issue here would there ?
What changed over the past 100 years ? other than crappy engineering ?
Its not your fault for believing whatever a manufacturer decides to print and we follow it as truth . Why doesnt Toyota stipulate the release bearing needs to turn ? Where is the preload procedure ? Until then , It is not reqiuired to turn period !
I refuse to put this small issue to rest because it goes against everything I was taught in an actual transmission school
Its not your fault you were never instructed how a diaghpram style clutch functions .
The physics of your theory work fine , but not for a diaghpram style clutch .
And to this day after a year , you never admitted that you now understand how a diaghpram style clutch functions . I have reasoned with you . Nope ! aint good enough. You or anyone else reading this wont accept defeat nor are you smart enough to understand the physics of a diagphram style clutch .
If the release bearing spins under load , you will in fact prematurely wear out your clutch , quill , and release bearing
In a self adjusting clutch , your theory is 100% accurate
