Just read your post. I'm in the same exact boat with a Saris Thelma 2 and a camper top. Never thought about removing the forward wheel holder, but I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the idea.

No problem. Ya, I'm pretty OCD when it comes to things being in the bed of my truck, and making sure its safe/secure. I won't be the one to have things flying off my truck on any street/highway.

I'm using the Inno bed bike rack and has been working good for over a year. Holds the bike even when riding in rough roads.

Kuat NV owners Is this play in the ratchet arm normal?
I have to find that sweet spot for the button to work. I can see this being a fail safe for the ratchet arm not popping open if i hit a nasty bump while driving. Either way let me know...

Amazing scenery!! Never been out that way yet, but it looks like lots of fun.

Which bike rack is that for $140? I need to replace mine or at least some parts as it is in rough shape, so I'm considering getting a newer one. I would like one with double bars instead of a singe one as I have now. How do you look your bikes to it? I already have a locking hitch pin for the rack itself. Thanks.

I carry my bikes a few different ways, I have a yakima rack mounted on my bed cover, i have a hitchmount I can use, and I can put them on my roof if I need to (and can borrow a rack). I also put them in the bed, here is a good pic of all the ways (cant see the one bike in the bed

One on the roof, 3 on the bed, one in the bed, and 3 on the hitch rack

Wow, bikes coming out of everywhere. :woot: You are still missing a front hitch rack for another two to carry :D

Which hitch rack do you use? Is it single or double bars? I can't tell from the pic. Thanks.

Does any one have an in-bed rack they want to sell? Just purchased a road bike and would like to have something to keep it up right. I'm looking for something i can mount my bike to without having to take the front tire off since i have a Long bed 2nd gen.

It is an older single bar Yakima. I like the rack on top of the bed better though. I could have fit one more in the bed, one more on top of the bed, and 2 more on top of the cab. If I had the bike racks

I don't have a front hitch so I can't put any on the front
