Hey guys can someone confirm if this will work with my trd cai filter(oe replacement is PTR43-00083) AFE filter is 31-10208. I did alittle research and only found one guy posting the part number up. Just want to see if anyone is also using this in thier trd CAI and not waste money if it doesnt.

    Ask me...
That AFE is listed as drop-in replacement for the 2010-14 FJ (Toyota paper filter p/n#17801-38051).

If there's a dealership close enough, or hell even a parts store - take your TRD filter in with you and compare it to a stock paper replacement for the FJ. If the dimensions are the same, you'll know right then.

How does your Tacoma run with the paper filter? You feel any difference with performance?

nope dont feel any difference. i went with the oem paper filter. its cheap enough that you can switch back if you dont like it but i might do the afe dry filter route.

What's the difference between the paper filter and the AFE dry filter? Is one better then the other?

Just did the research on the AFE and and sounds like a great investment. I think I'm sticking with the OEM paper filter for off road use only and use the TRD oil filter during street use :)

I love my AFE. Easy to clean and filters very well.

Quick question: with the paper air filter being quite a bit larger in depth, is there any problem with it fitting down in the TRD air box? Mine appears to have a small ledge around the right hand side of the box (facing the truck) and was wondering if it'll take some maneuvering in order for the paper filter to fit correctly. Thanks n advance.

Airbox is deep so it fits perfect.
