so I talked to parts at Toyota and they told me there isn't a trd CAI released for the 15 yet. Would the 14 trd CAI fit the 15?

I don't think one exists for the 2014. The only one I've seen from TRD only fits up to 2011.

I purchased a '14 K&N CAI for my truck ('15) and it didn't work, so I would wait until one comes out for a '15

Honestly look into these 4 brands:
    URD
    AFE
    Airaid
    Volante

Theses are the top 4 that have yeilded the best performance gains. There are advantages to each. You will likely be waiting a long time for the TRD version since next year is a re-designed truck with completely new motor. If you are expecting big HP you will likely be disappointed. If you would like to gain some throttle response, allow engine to breathe better, and more noise under the hood then I reccommend installing a CAI. I just installed an AFE. I wrote up a short review HERE.
Performance wise the URD is the best, however protection elements is minimal.
