There's nothing wrong with an oiled filter, it's when people clean them and over oil them. That can screw up the MAF. If they are properly cleaned and oiled they work fine with no issues.

Installed mine today - Thanks Jordan and happy holidaze.

I'll do a little review for y'all too.

Review on performance is this. I already have a Magnaflow exhaust and already had a K&N filter so that's where I'm coming from. I had to disconnect the battery so my truck will have to re-learn the power curves. So time to get on the pedal so we can take advantage of any usable power and have the ECU learn it.
1st thing noticed.. I'm getting a better smoother idle at cold start in cold weather.

2nd thing.. instead of being louder my engine in actually NOT as loud. I has some amount of drone at highway speeds and on hard excell... that is gone now.

regarding performance... hard excell .. seems the engine is breathing more efficiently and hard excell is quick and smoother, and highway speeds over 70 seems I get there sooner with less effort put out by the engine. I'm happy... I really bought the thing for the cool factor tbh, I have a Pro grill on my TRD Sport and lifted, so this completes the TRD upgrades for me. Looks good sounds great and I'm happy..... lets go wheeling and beer.

Here it is installed - did it today took about 45 minutes:

This is probably the part that is the money maker (Intake Flow Accelerator):

    20161225_150442.jpg

    Stock part it replaces: 20161225_153313.jpg

here's the location of the stock part :

    20161225_144147.jpg

The new part installed on the box - this part (Intake Flow Accelerator) fits thru the fender well to intake cool air from inside the fender.

Thanks for the actual constructive content!

Out of curiosity, does the top of the box have that secondary charcoal filter?

Agree, much better than that angry guy who posted his "butt dyno" vids claiming he was helping everyone. LOL.
Curious about that charcoal secondary screen also, but I'm going to take a guess and say not included.... I don't believe this i take unit is CARB legal.

Darn. Wish it would sound like an AMG (kidding). I'm hoping to hear more of the TRD exhaust when I get the CAI installed.

So to clarify what's included in this intake....for 388 shipped you get a top cover for your intake that says TRD, a red flex connector, filter element and a different inlet for the fender?

So wait. Toyota is charging $400 for an intake and its not even a complete unit. your just getting a top cover, a silly tube someone could probably make for 15cents to put on your factory lower box. The factory looking intake tube with some red on the ribbed part and it keeps the resonator. MY GOD what a joke of a rip off this is. shame on toyota for this one. This should be like $80 max

I'm with Gary on this one. I'd like to know the benefits of this as well. Since its a performance product, is the cost for performance worth it to us? We need this info. Since no one is looking under the hood it can't be purely aesthetics...

You're just an asshole..you are what ruin this forum...

There seems to be a lot of arguing about this product which I knew when I bought it. I wish I had a dyno but I don't. I don't really expect any gains outside of a placebo effect but I guess if I perceive an effect that's worth something lol. I'm sure it will add some grunt to the sound. Overall just wanted to try it and had the cash to burn. Probably pick up the exhaust at some point as well.

You will be happy... your engine sound will improve. On my setup - I already had the TRD filter and a Magnaflow cat back exhaust so it was plenty loud. Now the sound is more like a lion growl and mainly when I'm on the gas. Before it was a tad drone like at say 60-70mph on the highway .... I got used to it but now that drone is gone and better performance = throttle response and better acceleration. It's noticeable for me.

edit: don't worry about the haters... be a Bro and say no to haters, bro bro!
