Great sounding exhaust, but the best part is the kid at the end who obviously appreciates it too:

"Did you get a new truck? It sounds like you did. It sounds like like you did today."

That's priceless. Obviously a future TW member in the making!

On the borla website it shows the cat back exhaust for the automatic 3rd gen Verision only, does it work for the Manual transmisiion as well?

^^^ You might get a response here but I'd recommend to just contact Borla directly and ask them.

FWIW, Auto Parts Warehouse has the Borla exhaust (# 140680) for $500 shipped if you use code AP20DRVE during checkout. The usual price on APW is $600 shipped.

Just pulled the trigger on it as that's the lowest price I've seen, with shipping, for the Borla.

Found the Borla for $490 on a web search, Summit Racing price matched and beat it by a dollar LOL. $489 shipped, should be in tomorrow afternoon.

I'm happy with the TRD. Sounds sweet and folks can dismiss it all they want, but both of my trucks ('14 then a '15) were noticeably (but not significantly) more responsive to throttle input after the install.

Installed the Borla (finally) yesterday. I have heard the TRD exhaust in person when I test drove a TRD Pro earlier this summer. The Borla is definitely louder but not by much. On my 3rd Gen the Borla is quite mild compared to other exhausts Borla produces for other vehicles. The sweet spot is 3-4k rpms, that's when you really hear it. I also painted the chrome tip black. Overall I like it, especially at the $500 price point.

Well, that's up to you and your comfort level. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch, but don't hesitate when it comes to intake and exhaust installs. Electrical and suspension, different story -- I'm going to pay someone with more experience and the tools.

I used a motorcycle lift to help support and position the exhaust. See my post here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cement-tacos-lets-see-them.449933/page-219#post-18877399

There are plenty of videos out there regarding exhaust installs on the 3rd Gen Tacoma.

I found this one very helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_mfDCTbNHk

I want to get a full exhaust swap and wanted to know which is the best bang for the buck. Both performance wise and sound wise

I like Borla. It is loud yet not annoying.
