Way over priced for what it is. Kaneohe had a cple with the lift when it first came out, only good thing is it comes with a warranty.
    I love my Eibach

What is a TRD lift kit? Never knew TRD made a lift kit.

I've seen the spacer lift kits they install at Windward Toyota.
Way over priced! No UCA, but they get you the recon.

    • TRD-tuned Bilstein

    • Monotube shocks optimized for body control and ride comfort

    • Heritage-inspired TRD Pro-style front grille

    • Millimeter wave radar sensor for TSS (Toyota Safety Sense) integration

    • Wire harness and cable spacers

    Picture from https://openroadtoyotapeacearch.com/tacoma-trd-lift-kit

Based on this picture, It looks like the rear uses a spacer and the front just moves the spring retainer down to get the added lift.

Cool! How much does all that cost?

A good comparison would be the Bilstein 5100 which run about $450 retail. The rear I'd go with a decent add-a-leaf which runs about $70. (No need U-bolts)
The Heritage grill can be had for as low as $150 depending on where you buy it from. ( tiptopautoparts dot com )
The garnish for the grill is about $30.
So basically this set up can be had for approximately $700. (this gives you a point of reference as to value)
Depending on what Toyota charges? this might help you decide.

To address the "Factory Warranty" issue. Do people think Toyota could actually prove that this lift kit was any different on the truck than any other 2 & 1 lift kit??
I'd bet they would have a very hard time. And the so called factory warranty would only affect the struts/shocks of the truck. So if you blew a shock? Then yes the factory warranty would pay to replace them. They would not cover you after market shocks.
For any other issue? As long as all the parts remain stock. The warranty will be covered. i.e. drive train, drive shaft, axles, power train, transmission, engine, etc.... all still would be covered under the factory warranty unless they can prove that they components added to the truck had a direct impact in the failure of the component.
Just had a 2017 TRD Offroad with 3" and 2" lift with 34" tires get their rack-n-pinion steering replaced under warranty no questions asked.

Just don't want people to falsely believe that just by adding a lift to your truck that your entire warranty is gone.
Your factory warranty is still valid! It just won't cover your aftermarket lift components.

I think a key here, is that the install was done at the dealership, so there is a record of what lift it is and who did the work.

As for the rest of your post, I agree, none of that should be affected by the lift, so it should, in theory, still be covered. That's awesome that you got the steering replaced under warranty with that lift and bigger tires; I feel like some dealers/manufacturers would try to make the claim that they impacted the steering. I used to own a Jeep and I know that they are super lenient with modifications and the warranty, it's good to hear that Toyota is understanding as well. With the marketing and advertising Jeep and Toyota have, they know people are going to mod and offroad their trucks, so there should be some wiggle room.

Awesome truck by the way! I went back and forth between Cement and Army Green. I also just realized this is a Hawaii thread, I have no idea how I wound up here haha.

Lift looks good! I'm going to get mine tomorrow on my new 2022 Tacoma Sport 4x4. Big Island Toyota said mine will be the second lift they installed.

The kit was about $1,400 and it took the service guy about 5 hours to install, adding another $500 or so.

    Lift it!!!
If you do this TRD kit the warranty isn't affected.
If you do another lift the warranty isn't affected! They won't give you a warranty on the lift kit parts but the rest of the truck is still good to go!!

My truck got lifted the weekend I got it home from Servco! I just hit 7K miles on her!
All of the warranty is still in full effect!
Except for the lift kit parts. (I have Bilstein 5100's)
